Change of plans? No problem. We’re here to help make things as easy as possible.
Conveniently, you can cancel most flights online – including flights booked with points.
Before you cancel
Be sure to review the Airline rules + restrictions in your itinerary to see what the airline will let you do and what fees they charge for flight cancellations.
Full-service airlines
If you booked:
In the last 24 hours: Some airlines will let you cancel your flight for free. Not sure this applies to you? Check the Airline rules + restrictions in your itinerary for details. More than 24 hours ago: Airline cancellation fees come into play at this point. See the Airline rules + restrictions in your itinerary for more info.
Non-refundable fares: You won’t get a refund if you cancel, but you might get an airline credit to use later. If you do get a credit, be sure to read up on how to Book a flight with an airline credit.
How to cancel your flight
Low-cost airlines
Low-cost airlines, like Frontier and Spirit, like to handle their own changes and cancellations. But we can help you get in touch. We’ve got a list of airline phone numbers right here.
Roundtrip flights with 2 one-way fares
Because each ticket is considered separate, be sure to cancel each of your one-way flights individually. For more info, read Roundtrip flights with 2 one-way fares. If one of your flights is with a low-cost airline, like Frontier or Spirit, you’ll need to contact the airline to cancel that flight. You can cancel your other flights with us.
Vacation packages
If your flight’s part of a vacation package, please read Cancel your vacation package for more info – including how to cancel one part of a package and what to expect when you do.
Good to know
If you miss or skip your departure flight, the airline will cancel your return flight. Unless you booked a roundtrip flight with 2 one-way fares, because your tickets are considered separate in that case.
If the airline changed or canceled your flight, check out Airline-initiated schedule changes to see what to do next.
If you bought flight insurance, be sure to read Flight insurance for more info on when and how you can use it.
If you’re curious about refund information, check out Refund timelines.
The ability to change or cancel your airline tickets is dependent on the type of ticket you purchase.
Deals where the full itinerary is not disclosed prior to purchase are non-refundable, non-changeable. All other reservations are generally more flexible. Cancel and change rules vary by airline and fare purchased. The airline fares rules associated with your flight can be reviewed pre-purchase on your contract and post purchase within the itinerary displayed on our website.
If cancellations are permitted, a link to cancel online will be available with your itinerary. If you contact us to cancel your reservation, a processing fee may apply. If your fare rules allow a change and you are ready to exchange your reservation, please click here for additional guidance.
Flights should be confirmed with the airline 24 hours before each departure. Airlines often change flight schedules and it is the travelers' responsibility to be aware of these changes. Click here for airline contact information.
Advanced seat selection is entirely dependent upon your airline and because airlines may change aircraft and seat assignments prior to departure, specific seating requests are not guaranteed.
Seating options can be viewed and requested post purchase on the website.
Not all airlines offer complimentary pre-reserved seating on all flights. If a seat map is not available, it means your airline is not providing us with the ability to request specific seats. In this case, we suggest you visit your airline's website to view their pre-reserved seating policy and, if available, request your desired seats. Click here for airline contact information.
If you cannot get a seat assignment online, or with the carrier directly, your seats will be assigned at check-in.
Some airlines offer Premium Seating options for a fee. These fees are charged by the carrier directly and are non-refundable. If you purchased Premium Seats and have questions about your charges, please contact the carrier directly. For more on Premium Seating, click here.
Airlines, for various reasons, will adjust your itinerary, most commonly flight times, prior to your departure. If your itinerary undergoes a schedule change, we will notify you of the changes via email. In addition, we recommend that travelers confirm their flights and check-in location directly with the airline prior to each departure.
If a schedule change results in an unacceptable itinerary, please call us as soon as possible.
Baggage policies vary by airline. While some airlines may offer a free bag allowance, other airlines may charge fees for checked and carry-on baggage. Baggage fees are not included in your trip cost and will be charged directly by the airline at check-in.
Some carriers offer online check-in, which may offer reduced baggage costs. Click here for carrier contact information to see who's charging extra fees for checked baggage.
Information On E-Tickets
E-tickets (also called electronic reservations) are digital records stored in your airline's reservations system. They detail your flight information, ticket cost and payment details, and are attached electronically to your airline reservation.
Your airline may require either your e-ticket number or confirmation number when checking in. Both of these numbers are available in the Passenger and Ticket Information section of your itinerary.

Check-In Procedures
Flight check-in is always done directly with your airline.
Airline Check-In:
Check-in options and procedures vary by airline. Many airlines offer online passenger and baggage check-in, typically available via your airline's website between 24-72 hours prior to departure.
This option allows you to skip the long lines at the airport. Some airlines even offer discounted baggage fees when checking in via their online check-in option.
Click here to access your airline's website as well as their contact information to check-in/confirm your flight. Your airline confirmation number and ticket number are available on your itinerary.
At the Airport:
Unless your airline's website suggests an earlier arrival, plan to arrive at the airport a minimum of 2 hours in advance of departure for domestic flights and at least 3 hours in advance of departure for international flights.
Your check-in options may include online check-in on your airline's website, self-service kiosks at the ticket counter, or going to the ticket counter. Check with your confirmed airline to determine which options are available.
If you have Electronic Tickets (E-tickets):
If you are flying on MULTIPLE airlines, check in on each airline's website or ask the airline rep for your connecting flight's boarding pass.
If you are flying on a CODESHARE airline (shown as "operated by"), check-in online with the airline who sold the ticket but go to the "operating carriers" baggage drop counter and gate area or the "operating carriers" ticket counter.
If you have a Ticketless reservation, your check-in options may include online check-in or going to the ticket counter.
If you have Paper Tickets you will need to present them at the airline ticket counter to receive your boarding pass.
If you are flying on MULTIPLE airlines, ask the first airline rep for your connecting flight's boarding pass.
If you are flying on a CODESHARE airline (shown as "operated by"), go to the "operating carriers" ticket counter and gate area.
Things to know before you buy
The name on the ticket must match the ID presented at the airport.
Once purchased, airline fares rules apply.
Airfares are not guaranteed until purchased.
Most coach class fares are non-refundable. Changes or cancellations, if allowed by the airline, incur airline penalties.
Baggage fees are not included in your trip cost.
Yes, you can purchase up to eight tickets, even if you are not traveling with the passengers.
Enter each passenger's name exactly as it appears on his or her valid government-issued photo ID.
What form of payment do you accept?
Airlines generally accept all major credit and debit cards. When you are submitting your request, our website will display the payment options that you can use when booking your reservation. Only credit cards accepted by your airline will be presented.
Airline tickets are available to customers with credit cards issued by banks worldwide. If your country is not listed in the Country drop-down when entering your billing address, you won't be able to book tickets on our website.
To add passengers age 15 years or older, you can use our Advanced Flight Options to narrow down your search and book the same flights you are currently confirmed on.
To add children under the age of 15 without an adult on the new reservation, you will need to contact your airline directly.
You can view and print your itinerary online. Your printed itinerary will serve as your receipt
Connections, stops and layovers
Connection (Connecting flight): An intermediate flight between your origin and destination cities where a change of planes is required. Each flight will be identified by a unique flight number.
Layover: Duration of time spent on the ground before a connecting flight. For overnight layovers, the hotel/ground transportation will not be included in the ticket cost.
Stop: An intermediate stop between your origin and destination cities where a change of planes is usually not required, although you may be required to de-plane for a short period. Each flight will be identified by the same flight numbers. If deplaning is required on an international flight, you may have to clear Customs and Immigration and/or provide travel documentation to your airline’s gate representative as you enter, depart, or transit through a country.
Identification and Documentation Requirements
Identification and documentation requirements are determined by your citizenship and by the countries you will be traveling to, through or from. Travelers who are unable to provide required documentation may be denied boarding without compensation, detained, and/or deported at their own cost. If you are unsure of your travel requirements, please contact the embassy or consulate of the countries you are traveling from, through and to.
General requirements are outlined below:
Domestic travel within the U.S. and U.S. Territories
U.S. Citizens: (18 and over) traveling within the U.S. will require a government issued photo ID. U.S. citizens under the age of 18 are not required to provide an ID.
Non-US Citizens: (of all ages) traveling within the U.S. are required to carry a passport, Permanent Resident Card or other U.S. government issued ID.
Domestic travel outside the U.S.
Documentation requirements vary by country. Please check with the local government for documents required for domestic travel.
International Travel – Adults and Children
Passports: All International travelers will need a valid passport. The countries you are traveling to or transiting through might have passport restrictions in place. These often include but are not limited to: the validity period of passport, the number of free pages, restrictions on countries previously visited, or even restrictions on recognizing or allowing visits from citizens of certain countries.
Additional Documents: In addition to a passport, the countries you are traveling to or transiting through may also require additional documentation such as entry, exit or transit visas, return or onward ticket, financial guarantees or even notarized documents.
International Travel – Children Under 18 (with or without parents)
Some countries are working to fight the war on child abductions through new entry, exit and transit documentation. Additional documentation typically includes certified birth certificates (certified within the last 3 months) and/or notarized travel authorizations. Requirements may vary depending on whether the child is traveling with one parent, two parents, or an adult other than a parent.
When checking with each country you are traveling from, to and through, let them know you are traveling with a child and ask about additional children’s documentation.
The type of ticket required for your trip is determined by the airline that services your flight. You do not have the option to choose your ticket type. Most airlines issue e-tickets or ticketless reservations, at no additional cost. If paper tickets are required, they will incur an additional express delivery fee.
With e-ticket reservations, your flight information, ticket costs, payment details, and ticket numbers are all attached electronically to your airline reservation. Your boarding pass will be issued upon check-in. Ticketless reservations work much the same way as e-tickets, except there is no ticket number.
Off-peak domestic flights can depart as early as 5 a.m. and as late as 2 a.m. the next day. If you are departing in the evening or past midnight, your flight may arrive as late as noon the next day (except for travel to Hawaii, which could arrive as late as midnight the next day).
International off-peak flights may start as early as 5 a.m. on your travel dates and as late as 2 a.m. the next day, and may arrive anytime on the day after departure.
We are unable to hold reservations. If an airline accepts your request, your credit card will be charged immediately.
Airlines have different policies regarding passengers who miss their flight. If you make it to the airport, but miss your flight, go directly to the main ticket counter or ask the nearest gate agent for assistance. If you cannot make it to the airport, you will need to contact the airline directly.
Requests to change or cancel your reservation may be denied based on airline policy and credit will not be given for unused tickets.
Many airlines do not allow customers to standby for alternate flights. If you have "checked luggage" you will not be allowed to fly standby.
To determine if standby is allowed for your trip, view Ticket Details and Rules section of your online itinerary.
What if the airline cancels my flight?
If the airline cancels your flight or denies boarding due to overbooking, you are entitled to the same rights as any other passenger. Speak to a gate agent to review alternate travel options.
Change or Correct Passenger Name
Airline tickets cannot be transferred to another individual; the name on the ticket must match the government-issued photo ID each passenger will present at check-in.
If the tickets were purchased within the past 24 hours, you may have the option to cancel the itinerary. Cancellation rules vary by airline and type of fare purchased. If cancellation is permitted, a link to cancel the itinerary will be available online. Once the cancellation is processed, you'll then need to make a new purchase, but this is a far less costly alternative to an airline name correction.
After the 24-hour period, the payment is submitted to the airline and their name correction policies (including fees) take effect. Alam-Al-Raya has no control over airline name correction policies or fees.
Even if it’s been more than 24-hours since you’ve made your purchase, there are some scenarios noted below where you may be able to travel without correcting the name.
Important Note: In the scenarios below, Domestic Travel is defined as travel within the U.S. and U.S. Territories and International Travel is defined as travel between two or more countries.
Used maiden name instead of married name
Domestic Travel - You may be able to present a valid government-issued ID and marriage certificate to pass through security. This policy depends on the airline and the airport security at time of check-in. Please contact your airline and the Transportation Safety Administration to confirm.
International Ticket - The name on the ticket must match the name on the passport.
Misspelled Name by two letters or less -
Domestic Travel - Most airlines and the TSA will allow you to board/pass through security. This policy depends on the airline and the airport security at time of check-in. Please contact your airline and the Transportation Safety Administration to confirm.
International Travel - The name on the ticket must match the name on the passport.
Forgot to add suffix or middle name -
Domestic Travel - Omitting this information should not impact your ability to pass through security. Please contact your airline and the Transportation Safety Administration to confirm.
International Travel - The name on the ticket must match the name on the passport.
Hyphenated name merged into single name -
Domestic and International Travel - Airline booking systems automatically remove hyphens and combine the name. This is not a problem on either domestic or international tickets.
For all other name issues, contact us and we'll be happy to contact your ticketed airline to inquire about a name correction (when allowed, fees will apply!).
Do you offer first, business, or premium economy cabin class?
Yes! When selecting specific flights, you have the ability to search for economy/coach, business, first, or premium economy class airfares.
Please note: Deals where the full itinerary is not disclosed prior to purchase, only offer economy/coach class seating.
a hrefYes! Use our multi-destination search option.
Special needs and requests
Travelers with special needs such as oxygen tanks, wheelchairs, service animals, special meals or baggage handling should contact their confirmed airline directly. Each airline has different requirements for these requests.
Airlines require flight coupons to be used in segment order. If you don't take a segment, the remainder of the ticket will be invalidated and unused segments are non-refundable.
We do not have the ability to book reservations for pets. Please contact your airline directly for guidelines on traveling with a pet or a service animal.
We can book tickets for passengers 16 years and older without an accompanying adult. We recommend that where possible, unaccompanied minors avoid traveling on the last flight of the day or on connecting flights. For children under 16 years old traveling alone, please contact your desired airline directly.
Keep in mind that unaccompanied minor policies and fees vary by airline. Once booked, we recommend calling your airline directly to inquire about unaccompanied minor requirements, fees, services, or travel restrictions for your specific itinerary.
Most reservations can be cancelled within 24-hours of purchase if your confirmed airline will not allow unaccompanied minor travel on your confirmed itinerary.
Traveling with Infant (child under 2)
When traveling with infants (children under age 2) you will need to decide whether you want your infant to fly as a ticketed passenger or as a "lap child".
If you would like your infant to sit in their own seat, whether on a domestic or international flight, you will want to book your flight directly with the airline. You will be required to provide a FAA approved car seat.
If you will be holding your infant on your lap on a domestic flight (within the U.S. or on flights to Puerto Rico), most airlines will allow one infant per adult traveler at no charge. Please call your ticketed airline immediately after your purchase to let them know you will be holding an infant and note that proof of age may be required by your airline. Additionally:
If you're traveling with more than one infant per adult, you'll need to purchase a seat for each additional infant traveler.
If you're traveling with more than two infants per adult, or if you're flying in Premium Economy, Business or First class, check with your airline prior to purchase to confirm it is allowed.
If you will be holding your infant on your lap on an international flight (all flights outside of the U.S.), you will need to purchase an "infant ticket" directly with your airline. We do not sell infant tickets.
Frequent Flyer Miles
Earning Miles: As frequent flyer programs vary by airline and are subject to change, we cannot guarantee miles. To confirm eligibility or to add your frequent flier number post purchase, please contact your confirmed airline directly.
Specially priced reservations, Deals, or any reservation where the full itinerary is not disclosed prior to purchase, do not qualify for frequent flyer miles.
Redeeming Miles: Tickets cannot be purchased using frequent traveler miles on our website.
Do I have to be a U.S. resident to book airline tickets?
No. U.S. residency is not a requirement for purchase.
Will my current insurance policies or credit cards cover me during my trip?
Our Travel Protection Plan has a wide range of travel benefits which credit card, homeowners and renter’s insurance policies or health plans often do not offer. Most people don't have any insurance coverage at all if they must cancel or interrupt their trip.
If you purchased Airline tickets or a Vacation Package: Homeowners and renters insurance plans may offer coverage for lost possessions and bags, but these plans may not cover your loss fully due to high deductibles. Health insurance plans may not cover you outside of your local coverage area or may not cover you fully due to high deductibles and copayments. In addition, many plans do not pay for expenses relating to medical evacuations, which can be very costly. Alam-Al-Raya’s travel insurance plan includes baggage and medical coverage that will pay covered expenses not paid by your primary insurance plan or will pay first dollar if you don't have a primary plan.
Many credit cards have only limited benefits and assistance services, with only a few including coverage to reimburse in the event of a cancellation.
However, you should review your own policies and credit card documentation carefully to see what is and is not covered.
What does the Travel Insurance cover?
Travel insurance can provide coverage before and during your trip to help protect the investment you've made in your travel plans. In general, travel insurance can include protection for:
Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption
Travel Delay
Baggage
Medical Emergencies and Emergency Transportation
24/7 Live Travel Assistance
Specific coverage levels vary by plan. For more information, please visit FAQs. If you have additional questions, please contact AIG, our partner and insurance provider, at 1 (AIG).
Can I fly one-way or to multiple cities?
Yes! If you are booking flights only and selecting your specific flights, you have the option to search for one-way and multi-destination travel.
If you are requesting a multi-destination itinerary, you will be able to enter a maximum of five flights for up to eight passengers.
Vacation Packages are not available for one-way and multi-destination travel.

Multiple Tickets
In order to offer you the best deal possible, we will often issue multiple tickets for your itinerary. Each of these tickets has its own set of rules, restrictions, and fees.
Reservations
You will see separate charges for each ticket issued
Processing and/or Agent fees will be disclosed pre-purchase on your contract. These fees are non-refundable and may appear as a separate charge on your credit card statement.
Each ticket issued will have its own baggage policy and fees
Changes and Cancellations
You must cancel or change each individual ticket separately. Each ticket can have different rules and restrictions and may have change fees or cancellation fees that need to be paid separately on each ticket
If there is a schedule change or cancellation by the airline on one of your tickets, it is completely separate from the other tickets. This means you may have to pay a fee and additional airfare to change the other tickets.
What's a non-jet airplane?
It's a plane with propeller engines. This type of aircraft is used primarily for short commutes. Most major airlines include non-jet aircraft in their fleets, since many local or regional airports can only be serviced by these smaller aircraft.
Do I have to provide my credit card?
Yes, a credit card is required so that we can lock in your airfare and purchase your tickets.
Why is the itinerary I want not available?
Airline inventory is constantly changing. As a result, we are unable to guarantee the availability or price of any flight until the purchase is completed, especially during peak travel periods and major holidays.
Additionally, our booking system is linked to the airlines booking system and there can be time lags, which impact true reservation availability; listed reservations may not actually be available because the travel partner has not refreshed their reservation system when we access it.
Last-minute travel
Following are a few details about same-day bookings:
You will have at least two hours between the time your request is confirmed (local time of departure city) and the time your first flight departs.
You can depart and return on the same day.
Electronic tickets will be issued for your trip.
What is Secure Flight?
Secure Flight is a program developed and mandated by the Department of Homeland Security The mission of the Secure Flight program is to enhance the security of domestic and international commercial air travel by requiring airlines to provide the TSA with a passenger's name as it appears on the government issued ID they plan to travel with, date of birth, and gender.

If you are looking to purchase extra seating to accommodate a single passenger, we recommend that you contact the airline directly to purchase tickets.
Credit Card Transaction and Currency Conversion Fees
Available currencies vary by product and travel partner. For airline bookings, if more than one currency is available, you will be able to select your preferred currency during the booking process via a drop down list.
Purchases are transacted in the currency chosen and displayed during the request process. If your credit card does not transact in the chosen currency, your credit card issuer may charge a foreign transaction fee. In addition, the amount charged to your card may differ slightly due to exchange rate fluctuations. We have no control over exchange rate fluctuations.
Paid Seating
Paid seating is currently available on select American Airlines flights and may include Main Cabin Extra and/or Preferred Seats.
Paid seating can be purchased when booking your flights. If paid seating is available you will see paid seats on the seat map and can select them. Paid seating options can also be purchased after you have booked your reservation; look for the "Paid Seats" banner or click the "Change Seat" link in the Passenger and Ticket information section of your itinerary. If you do not see the "Paid Seating" options, the seating is either unavailable or we are not yet offering paid seating for your flight on our website. You can also check the airline's website for seating options.
Charges are shown per passenger and per flight segment; available flights and prices vary, are non-transferable, and are only valid for the flight purchased. Purchases on Alam-Al-Raya may only be made using the original credit card used to purchase your airline ticket, and if you cancel your airline reservation pre-travel, the airline will automatically refund seat fees.
Customers who purchase a paid seat and are impacted by an airline-initiated flight and/or seat change, equipment change, routing change, or flight cancellation are eligible for a refund, automatically initiated by the airline. For questions on airline refunds, please contact your airline
If you do not want to pay extra for seats, you can wait for your seats to be assigned at the airport check-in counter for no fee.

Pregnant or sick?
If you are planning to travel your airlines may require some type of certification that you are safe to fly. Consult your physician and contact your airline for guidelines.
If your doctor has advised you NOT to travel, please contact us as soon as possible.
I am ticketed on one airline, but the flight is OPERATED BY another
Some airlines enter into code share agreements with a limited number of select airline partners. On certain routes, the airline may not fly its own aircraft. Instead, it contracts with a partner airline to fly to your destination.
In most cases you will check-in with your "operating" carrier; however, we recommend that you verify your flight check-in location with your ticketing carrier.
Ticket Questions or Concerns
Electronic Tickets
Electronic tickets or "e-tickets" are digital records stored in the airline's computer system. They detail your flight information, ticket cost and payment details, and are attached electronically to your airline reservation.
Paper Tickets
Paper tickets will be printed the business day following your purchase. If travel is more than 5 days from booking, we guarantee 3 day delivery. If travel is 5 days or less from booking, we guarantee 2 day delivery (or priority overnight if required). For security reasons, you must be available to sign for the tickets when they arrive.
To check on your ticket delivery, view your itinerary online to locate your tracking number, delivery method and the appropriate links to check the status of your delivery. If you have not received your paper tickets, please contact us.
Lost Paper Tickets
In the event you misplace your paper tickets, you will need to complete a Lost Ticket Application directly through your confirmed airline. Depending on your airline's policy, you may be required to purchase new tickets for travel and the carrier will reimburse you for the original ticket cost.
Can I transfer the ticket to another person?
Tickets may not be transferred to another individual. The name entered in the passenger name field is the name that appears in the airline's reservation system.
Can I change my shipping address?
For security purposes, we are unable to change the delivery address of paper tickets once they have been purchased. If travel is more than 5 days from booking, we guarantee 3 day delivery. If travel is 5 days or less from booking, we guarantee 2 day delivery (or priority overnight if required). If you are unable to receive tickets at the address specified in your accepted request, we recommend that you pick up your tickets at the local FedEx or USPS office.
Your online itinerary will provide your tracking number, delivery method and the appropriate links to check the status of your delivery.
To find the local FedEx or USPS office nearest you, contact FedEx at 1-800-Go-FedEx or USPS at 1-800-222-1811.
If for any reason your tickets are undeliverable and returned to Alam-Al-Raya, there will be an additional $34.95 USD express re-shipping fee.
Flight Delays
If your flight is delayed, please follow the carrier's guidance as you may be required to check in at the regularly scheduled time.
To check on your flight status, we recommend you contact your carrier contact your airline directly prior to each departure.
If you made hotel or rental car reservations and your flight has a significant delay, it's a good idea to call your hotel or rental car company to let them know that you might be arriving later.
Exchange Guidance
Exchange rules and fees vary by airline and type of fare purchased. Your airline's rules and fees associated with your ticket can be reviewed within your online itinerary.
If your airline's fare rules allow an itinerary change, it will need to be done before your first flight departs. Here are some guidelines to facilitate the process:
Identify your new travel dates and desired itinerary, then call us to complete your exchange.
The price for your new itinerary may be different than your original ticket. You will be responsible for the difference in fares plus your airline's change fee. A $30 USD per ticket exchange service fee will be charged by us.
If the new fare is lower, consider calling your airline directly for the change. We do not have the ability to offer airline travel vouchers (so any decrease is lost if we process the change for you).
Name changes, including corrections/adjustments and transfers, are not permitted.
We do not have the ability to override an airline's rules, airfares or change fees.
Not ready to book a new reservation? Some airlines will allow you to cancel your existing reservation and retain the value of the ticket as a future travel credit (on that airline). As with exchanges, the cancellation of your itinerary must be made pre-travel.
Where can I find my ticket/confirmation number?
Your ticket and airline confirmation numbers can be viewed in your online itinerary and within your confirmation email.

Emirates Cabin Luggage Restrictions to the United States
The Transportation Security (TSA) has issued a directive regarding electronic devices in cabin luggage on US routes from Dubai.
As per the directive, except for medical devices, electronic devices which are larger than a cell phone/smart phone cannot be carried in the cabin of the aircraft. This would be effective on 25 March 2017, and is valid until 14 October 2017. This is applicable to all US-bound passengers from Dubai International Airport, whether originating or transiting through. Emirates requests that all passengers traveling to the US pack all electronic devices larger than a smart phone in their checked- in baggage.
TSA Privacy Notice The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security requires us to collect information from you for purposes of watch list screening, under the authority of 49 U.S.C. section 114, and the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004. Providing this information is voluntary; however, if it is not provided, you may be subject to additional screening or denied transport or authorization to enter a sterile area. TSA may share information you provide with law enforcement or intelligence agencies or others under its published system of records notice. What is aircraft disinsection?
Aircraft disinsection is a process of using insecticide on inbound international aircraft for insect and disease control. The insecticide used is specialized for aircraft and has low toxicity.
Currently, there are only a handful of countries that require aerosol insecticide spraying. The complete list can be found on DOT's disinsection webpage.
Baggage: size and weight restrictions
Check out baggage size and weight rules per airline
You’ve picked the destination and booked the air tickets… but what about the luggage? Before you pack a suitcase or a bag, you should check if it meets the size and weight limits. What are the maximum dimensions for checked baggage? What is the allowed hand luggage weight? Airlines apply their own policies about size, weight and number of items of baggage permitted, so you should always confirm the baggage allowances before departure. Otherwise, the cost may be higher than expected.
Hand luggage size allowances vary between airlines. For example, baggage size limits imposed by Ryanair are almost the same as for Wizz Air, but there is a difference of a few centimeters. It seems like nothing major, but it may cause problems at the check-in desk – if your carry-on bag exceeds the limits, it will be put in the hold and you will be charged an oversize fee.
In general, you should be able to place your carry-on luggage under the seat in front of you or in the overhead racks. Each carrier has its own policy on the size and weight of hand luggage. You should also remember that hand luggage dimensions include any bits that stick out, such as the handle, pockets, wheels, etc. Usually, your carry-on luggage should weigh no more than 8-10 kg.
Checked luggage dimensions
If you are not satisfied with the hand baggage allowance, you can always purchase hold luggage. Its size and weight should meet the requirements of your airline but no less important is the amount of luggage allowed to be taken. The number of bags you can put in the hold depends on your travel class. The final price is determined by several factors, such as the number of items, their weight, the dates of your flight (during the high-season the cost will be higher), as well as the route.
Visit our website to check the dimensions and weight limits for both checked-in and hand baggage imposed by the different airlines.
What bag should you buy?
If you are interested in getting the right suitcase to travel with, a number of factors should be considered. First of all, check your carrier’s policy on the size and weight of the luggage. Consider also how often you’re going to fly. Occasional travelers can select slightly cheaper bags or wheelies but frequent flyers who travel several times a month, should go for a high-quality hard-shell suitcase.
There is a wide selection of luggage on the market – from hard-sided to soft-sided (make sure your suitcase is equipped with a lock system and spinner wheels). Which one would be the best? If you’re looking for a cabin bag, choose a soft rucksack style suitcase – it’s easier to stuff it into the overhead compartment. Soft shoulder bags or backpacks are even easier to squeeze. You might also like semi-hard suitcases offering more protection for your belongings. They are, however, a bit heavier which is a disadvantage when every pound counts.
If you’re going to travel with checked luggage, you would be better off going for a hard-shell suitcase as it’s definitely less fragile (remember about baggage handlers at the airport throwing bags with no mercy). The best option would be a hard-sided luggage made of polycarbonate with corner guard reinforcements providing extra protection. Also don’t forget to keep your valuables under lock and key with a TSA lock or a padlock for your suitcase.
How do I increase my baggage allowance after check-in?
Sometimes it turns out, in the middle of packing your bags, that you can’t really fit all your worldly possessions in the baggage allowance you bought when booking your flight. Other times you want to carry items that are not allowed in the passenger cabin.
Most airlines allow you to purchase additional baggage allowance. The fees and conditions depend on the carrier you’re traveling with.
Cheaper than at the check-in desk
An additional baggage allowance can also be purchased at the airport, but the costs can be really expensive depending on the airline you’re flying with.
How do I transport sports equipment by plane?
Airlines offer transport of sports equipment as an additional service. Depending on the carrier, it may be included in the standard baggage allowance, or subject to additional charges. Remember to order this service in advance – by contacting our Call Center – because it can be much more expensive to register sports equipment for transport at the airport.
How should I prepare my sports equipment for check-in?
Bicycles
Remove pedals or secure them so that they do not stick out.
Unscrew the front wheel and attach it to the frame,
Set and secure the handlebars along the frame,
Deflate the tires,
Pack the bicycle in special stretch foil, a plastic bag, or a cardboard box.
Scuba diving equipment
Empty the air tank,
Set all switches and valves to the OFF position,
Remove all power sources and lamps.
A scuba diving setup can only be transported as hold baggage and is subject to weight limits and excess baggage fees.
Fragile elements should be carefully secured. For example, you can wrap them in foam. If you want to transport a harpoon launcher, it should be properly secured with the ammunition packed separately.
Surfboard
Transporting a surfboard or windsurfing board is always subject to additional charges, as such items are never included in hold baggage allowances.
Important! If the weight of your board with rigging exceeds 50 kg, transport will be possible only as a cargo service.
British Airways is one of several airlines that do not offer surfing and windsurfing equipment transport. It is, however, possible on some low-cost airlines, such as Ryanair and Wizz Air.
Skis and snowboards
Transport of skis and snowboards is possible on almost all airlines. Such equipment is treated as sports baggage – one piece of baggage may consist of a pair of skis with buckles and fasteners plus ski boots (for water skiing – skis alone).
You should pack your skis in a ski case.
The fees charged for sports baggage transport can be different depending on the airline. Many traditional airlines (like LOT and Lufthansa) accept sports equipment as hold luggage and do not charge additionally for the service. Learn more about taking skis and snowboards on aircrafts.
Golf clubs
On low-cost airlines, sports baggage transport is charged according to the carrier’s fee schedule. Most traditional airlines offer transport of golf clubs beyond the limit of free carry-on luggage at no extra charge. Such fees may be charged, however, if the golf bag with clubs is of non-standard size or the weight of all sports baggage exceeds certain limits (usually 15 kg).
How should I pack my checked luggage for a flight?
Checked luggage (also known as “hold” or “main”) is transported in the hold of an aircraft. You can give it to your airline representative at the check-in desk or leave it at a luggage drop-off point.
The airline takes responsibility for your luggage once it is checked-in and tagged. You are given a part of the tag – usually stuck on to the boarding pass – as a document you use to identify your luggage on arrival or when submitting a complaint if something is damaged or lost during the flight.
Luggage allowances
Limits on weight and number of pieces of checked luggage are set by each airline individually (check your carrier’s Terms and Conditions for more detailed information).
Dimensions vary depending on the route, class, and connection you’re taking. Generally:
158 cm | maximum size of one piece of checked luggage (height + length + width) |
20-32 kg | maximum weight on low-cost and traditional airlines |
1-4 | number of pieces allowed |
What is NOT allowed in checked luggage?
For safety reasons, certain items are not permitted on aircraft. Regardless of the airline you choose, it is forbidden to transport explosives, flammable materials (such as alcohol of greater than 70% purity), fireworks, lighter fuel containers, and dummies of explosive devices. In addition, chemicals or toxic substances, including but not limited to mouse and rat poison, tear gas devices, corrosive chemicals, paints and thinners, and tourist gas cartridges are not allowed on board.
Important!
Take all your valuable or fragile belongings, such as laptops, cameras, cash, jewelry, and documents, in hand luggage to avoid the risk of them being damaged or lost.
Unusual or outsized luggage Please inform your airline about any outsized or unusual items of luggage (like a bicycle, surfboard, snowboard, ski equipment, or a musical instrument) in advance, not later than 48 hours prior to departure. Our Call Center consultant will help you with any formalities.
Low-cost airlines
Low-cost carriers often charge you additional fees for checked luggage. If you decide to buy a checked luggage allowance, tick the correct box when booking your flight. The luggage fee will be included in the final price of your ticket before you complete the reservation.
On most low-cost airlines, the maximum weight of one piece of checked luggage is 32 kg. Even if you have bought an extra allowance, your bag cannot exceed this limit.
Paid checked luggage that exceeds weight or size limits will be considered excess or unusual luggage and subject to additional charges.
You cannot book checked luggage for an infant (a child aged 0-2).
You cannot divide weight limits between pieces of luggage.
For example, two passengers traveling together with a checked luggage limit of 15 kg each cannot claim one 20 kg suitcase and one 10 kg bag.
You cannot combine the weight limits of multiple passengers for one piece of luggage.
For example, two passengers traveling together with a checked luggage limit of 15 kg each cannot claim one 30 kg suitcase.
Make sure to review the weight limits of particular carriers in the Terms and Conditions section of their website.
Traditional airlines
Checked luggage is usually included in the price of a ticket. However, it is becoming more and more common on traditional airlines to charge extra for it.
Weight and amount limits depend on the travel class (economy, business, first) and the route.
Any luggage exceeding allowances is treated as excess luggage and charged additionally according to the applicable fee schedule.
Luggage restrictions
Before you start packing your suitcase:
Review the detailed luggage conditions of the airline you’re traveling with.
Make sure you know what you can and can’t take in carry-on and checked luggage.
Remember that transport of liquids, gels, and aerosols is restricted. All cosmetics, drinks, and other liquids should only be carried in containers that hold a maximum of 100 ml, and they must be packed in a transparent plastic bag. Each passenger can take a total of 1 liter of liquids on board. If you wish to take cosmetics in larger containers, put them in checked luggage.
Packing tips
When getting your luggage ready for a flight, keep these things in mind:
Always pack jewelry, electronic equipment, cash, keys, medicine, documents and other valuables in hand luggage,
Secure fragile items by wrapping them in soft cloth or paper,
Weigh your luggage before taking it to the airport to avoid paying additional fees,
Protect your checked luggage from damage during transport: carefully close all the locks and sliders on your suitcase, backpack, or bag, wrap it in stretch foil, and secure with a belt or put it in a case,
Remove all luggage claim tags from previous trips. If you leave them on, you risk having your luggage sent to the wrong destination,
Label each piece of checked luggage with your contact details. Special tags are available at check-in desks,
To avoid confusion when picking up your bags at the luggage reclaim, put something unique on your suitcase, like a colorful ribbon or a sticker.
How should I pack my hand baggage?
The rules for packing hand baggage
Want to save money traveling? Pack your hand baggage the right way! This is especially important if you’re taking a budget airline because they love charging extra fees to people who can’t pack. Here’s how you can pack right:
take a backpack instead of a suitcase – it’s more ‘flexible’, and you can put on a few extra pieces of clothing before the flight to make your bag smaller
take only what you absolutely can’t live without and buy some things after you arrive at your destination
put cosmetics (especially creams, shampoo, etc.) in small containers available at drug stores, and don’t forget about the limits on liquids
for ages, people have searched for the best technique to fold clothes – the answer is simple, just roll everything up and put your things as close together as possible
take things that need to be removed during the airport security check (cosmetics, laptops, etc.) on top of your bag
put your travel documents in an outer pocket
What size hand baggage can I take?
Each airline has its own rules about hand baggage amounts, sizes, and weight. There are also security restrictions every passenger has to follow.
55 x 40 x 20 cm | is the maximum size limit for most budget airlines |
8 kg | is the maximum weight limit for most budget and traditional airlines |
1 piece | is usually allowed on board the aircraft |
Important!
Budget airlines don’t usually give babies a hand baggage allowance. Accessories, including baby food, are taken by the child’s guardians, who don’t get an extra hand baggage allowance,
Some traditional airlines offer extra weight and quantity to those flying business, premium, or first class,
If your hand baggage exceeds the limits, it can be taken as checked baggage, as long as it follows the relevant rules.
Ask your airline for detailed information about baggage allowances.
What to take in hand baggage?
The kind of things you should take on board are valuables, jewelry, documents, and money. Registered baggage can get damaged during the flight, so delicate things like cameras, computers, or items made of glass should also go in your hand luggage.
Can I put food or drink in my hand baggage?
When packing your hand baggage, don’t forget about restrictions on liquids that you can take on board. These include drinks, liquid foods, cosmetics, etc. Strict rules also apply to creams, gels, aerosols, shaving foams, toothpaste, and lotions. You are only allowed to transport liquids in containers with a maximum capacity of 100 ml. All containers have to fit in a see-through plastic bag no bigger than 1 litre in volume.
Exceptions to these restrictions apply to baby food and medicines necessary for the passenger during the duration of the flight.
There are no restrictions on transporting food within EU borders. You can take sandwiches, pastries, sweets, sausages, fruit and vegetables, and other products.
Can I take my laptop on board?
Many airlines (mostly traditional) allow one extra piece of baggage that counts as hand baggage. These are usually things like:
a laptop bag (with a charger and a mouse)
a camera (in a separate bag or in hand baggage)
another small electric device (telephone, mp3 player, portable game consoles)
umbrella
coat
reading material (but not your whole library)
handbag (whose content will be examined during the airport security check)
Important!
Budget airlines usually don’t let you take any extra baggage on board, so everything we mentioned above needs to fit in one piece of hand baggage.
What am I not allowed to take on board?
You are not allowed to take sharp objects like scissors, multi-tools, corkscrews, etc.
Where should I put hand baggage on the plane?
Hand baggage should be placed in an overhead bin which can be found above your seat.
Taking food in your hand luggage
You can carry food both in hand luggage and checked baggage. Keep in mind that food products should be contained in commercially branded packaging with the original seals unbroken. Some airlines may refuse the carriage of fresh products with short shelf-life, especially on a long-haul flight. If you bring food on board, you should be aware of the customs regulations in effect for your destination country.
Outside the European Union
If you are traveling to a country outside the European Union, you are usually not allowed to bring fresh products. Meat, dairy products, fruit, and vegetables also cannot be brought into EU countries if you are traveling from a country outside the European Union.
Traveling with food is not prohibited by most airlines.
If you wish to bring food, check the law before you travel. Read the regulations of your destination and transit countries – some of them, like the USA or Australia, prohibit bringing fresh food into their territory.
When traveling to an EU country, you cannot bring milk, meat, or animal products from a country outside the EU.
Food taken onboard must be packed in commercially branded packaging with an expiry date on it.
The majority of airlines prohibit passengers from carrying products with a short shelf-life.
Remember!
Taking liquids in the hand luggage is restricted by the safety regulations. Liquids must be carried in 100ml containers. You’re limited to a total of 1 litre of liquid containers.

What can you take on board the aircraft?
Because of security reasons, international laws say which items are and which items are not allowed to be shipped via air transport. Additionally, there are items which can be only transported in the registered baggage and which cannot be taken on board as a part of hand (cabin) baggage.
Check maximum size and weight of hand and registered baggage.
The rules and regulations regarding transportation of different kinds of items can differ depending on the airline and the passengers’ destination country. The list below is for reference only. Any airport security officer has the right to demand removal of any item raising doubts, both from hand and registered baggage.
What can and what cannot be taken on board?
Basic rules apply to the transportation of liquids. A maximum of 1 litre of liquids separated into containers of no more than 100 ml can be taken in hand luggage. This applies to i.e. shampoo, mouth wash, body balms, drinks and alcohol. If you want to take something to drink on board, the best solution is to buy it in the departures lounge, after the security check.
Items with sharp edges or spikes, which could potentially be used as a weapon, cannot be taken on board in hand luggage either. Medicines and medical accessories which a passenger might need to use when travelling are accepted on board. The details can be found below.

Airport counter check-in
Airport counter check-in is the process in which the passenger, upon arrival at the airport, hands over any baggage that they don’t want or are not allowed to carry inside the aircraft's cabin. They are then given a boarding pass before they proceed to board the aircraft. If possible, we recommend using online check-in – it is much more convenient, and you can arrive at the airport later.
Check-in desks
After arriving at the airport, you can find information about check-in for your flight on special information boards. The relevant information can also be obtained at an airport information desk, usually located near the bag drop-off area (check-in desks).
Important!
You should arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight’s scheduled departure time.
Step by step
Find the appropriate check-in gate (point) for your flight.
Have your documents ready – passport (or national ID), online reservation booking number (code), or a paper copy of your ticket (if you have one).
At the check-in desk, you will be asked to present the documents listed above, and you can hand over checked baggage which will be weighed and then sent to be loaded onto the plane.
After presenting your documents and checking your baggage, you will receive a boarding pass which enables you to board the plane.
Once the check-in procedure is completed you should proceed to the appropriate gate, where each passenger undergoes a security check.
During the security check, passengers must place objects like keys, telephones, belts, electrical equipment, as well as coats, jackets, and scarves in the baskets provided and put them on the conveyer belt.
After the security check, you can proceed to the appropriate gate, where you will then board the plane. The boarding time is indicated on your boarding pass. At boarding time, airport staff will make an announcement informing passengers they may board the plane.
Important!
Some airlines apply additional fees for airport counter check-in and printing of the boarding pass (e.g. np. Ryanair). Detailed information about boarding fees can be found in the Terms of Use of each operator. It is the duty of the passenger to be acquainted with the Terms of Use.
Self-service check-in at the airport
To avoid queues at check-in gates, you can use self-service check-in machines, which are available at most international airports.
Step by step
Find a self-service check-in machine – the airport’s webpage should have information about where they are located.
Supply the machine with details from the ID card you used when buying your ticket as well as the number (code) of your booking confirmation.
If the machine allows it, you can choose your seat on the plane, or the system will automatically assign you a seat.
Take the printed boarding pass with you – it is required to board the plane.
Important!
At certain airports, self-service check-in is available to passengers traveling with hand baggage only.
The largest airports provide self-service check-in services for checked luggage. In this case, you will receive a special tag or sticker tag to put on your bags. Baggage should be tagged and handed over at the baggage drop-off point.
Self-service check-in at the airport is free of charge.
Economy class check-in
Passengers of regular airlines who have purchased a flight in economy class can choose from a number of check-in methods:
check-in at the airport
self-service check-in at the airport
online check-in
telephone check-in (via voice connection or data transfer)
Not all airlines offer a telephone check-in option (however, Polish Airlines LOT have such an option available in their offer as a voice connection). Obviously the most accessible is online check-in, where passengers can avoid potential queues at the airport check-in and freely proceed to the security check after dropping their baggage off at the assigned baggage drop-off point. Passengers are reminded that they still need to go through the security check.
First class check-in
For passengers who have purchased seats in first class (and in business class on certain airlines as well), regular airlines provide special baggage drop-off points. This convenience allows first-class passengers to enjoy fast and hassle-free formalities at the airport. First-class check-in points are clearly marked, as are additional fast security checkpoints.
Passengers traveling first class can, of course, use online, self-service or telephone check-in. British Airways, for example, offer smartphone check-in via data transfer – the passenger obtains a barcode from the boarding pass and can print it using a portable printer. This kind of option is not available with all airlines, but it is gaining in popularity.
Meals served on planes
When you fly with a budget airline, meals and drinks are not included in the price. During the flight you can purchase food and beverages from the cabin crew. Traditional airlines usually serve snacks and meals free-of-charge. The type of meal depends on the route and the time the flight takes off – you can be served breakfast, a snack, lunch, dinner or supper. Meals are served with drinks: coffee, tea, and non-alcoholic beverages, and sometimes alcoholic beverages are available as well.
Special meals
Traditional airlines typically let passengers request special meals: vegetarian, gluten-free, kosher, for children, etc. Special meals need to be selected when you’re booking the flight or declared at least 72 hours before scheduled take-off.
In business or first class, a special menu is usually available, which has been prepared by expert chefs with cuisine from all over the world. Typically, you are offered a choice of side dishes, main dishes, and desserts served on a ceramic table setting.
For more information about meals served on-board, take a look at our section with descriptions of various airlines.
Online check-in: What is it?
Check out online check-in rules per airline
Online check-in is check-in made via the Internet. An alternative option is a check-in at the airport.
Attention!
In the case of purchasing the tickets of popular airlines Ryanair, Wizz Air or EasyJet, it's worth using online check-in because check-in at the airport is associated with additional fees.
What is check-in and why should it be made?
Each passenger must have a boarding pass to take a seat on the plane (a ticket itself is not enough to board the plane!). The boarding pass is generated during check-in. There are two possibilities to make a check in:
Online – using the online form, you have to enter the required data, and after generating the boarding pass, you have to print it and take with you to the airport (you will see the details on online check-in in the next part of the article)
At the airport – at the check-in desk of an airline or at the self-service check-in desk (machine) – in this case, the boarding pass is printed by the airline employee or by the machine (you can find more information in the article about check-in at the airport).
Each passenger has one boarding pass filled with data, the scope of data is determined by the airline. In addition, the required data may vary depending on the route, which is related to the visa requirement set by the country of arrival. Usually during check-in, you must give your name and type, number and series of the transport document (ID card, passport), as well as additional data, such as country and data on the issue and validity of the document. This is important because the compliance of the data on the boarding pass and documents are verified during the security check.
In the case of non-compliance of the mentioned data, the passenger won't be able to pass the security check. Additionally, during the check-in, seats on the plane are allocated – this information is included in the generated boarding pass.
Is it necessary to provide data during check-in? Yes, it's necessary. When making the reservation of the airline ticket, you have to provide names and surnames of the passengers, birth dates and contact details. The boarding pass includes more detailed information. This results from the applicable safety requirements.
In addition, in the time between the ticket purchase and the flight, the required data may change (for example, the validity of the passport may expire and a new document will be issued with a different series and number). This is why check-in is made just before the departure or in the case of online check-in, it's possible only a few days before the departure.
Attention! Each passenger should have his/her own boarding pass filled with the required data and an identity document confirming their compatibility with the actual situation.
Check-in can be simple
Alam-Al-Raya enables its customers who have purchased tickets of Ryanair, Wizz Air or EasyJet airlines, to check-in online via its website. This action can be made after receiving an airline ticket, within 30 days (if you have booked a seat) or from 48 hours to 3 hours before the departure (if you haven't booked a seat), in the case of Wizz Air airline. In the case of Ryanair, from 2 days to 2 hours before departure (if you have booked seats – from 60 days before departure). The easyJet airline allows passengers to check-in online from 30 days to 2 hours before departure.
Other airlines that provide online check-in:
Air Baltic - from 5 days before departure to closing personal check-in at the airport.
Alitalia (applies only to the Light tariff!) - from 24 to 2 hours before departure.
Ukraine International Airlines - from 48 hours (except for flights from Amsterdam and on the route Kiev - Brussels and charter flights - from 24 hours, flights from Brussels, Geneva and Zurich - from 18 hours before departure) to 1 hour before departure (except for flights from Tel Aviv and Zaporozhye - then the check-in is closed 3 hours before departure). Online check-in on the route Kiev - Riga and Riga - Kiev is payable, for other routes its free. Passengers on all UIA flights, with the exception of intercontinental flights and flights from Klaipeda, are required to pay an additional fee for check-in at the airport!
AirAsia (with exception of flights from or to United States) - from 14 days to 4 hours before departure (for AirAsia X) or up to 1 hour before departure (AirAsia).
Spirit Airlines - from 24 hours to 1 hour before departure.
Jet2.com - from 28 days to 5 hours before departure.
El Al. - from 24 hours to 3 hours before departure.
In cases not mentioned above, check-in takes place in a standard way at the airport - after going to the check-in desk (no later than 2 hours before departure), passengers will receive boarding cards free of charge.
Link to online check-in can be found in the email you will receive from Alam-Al-Raya
Depending on the purchased tariff, Alam-Al-Raya customers can check-in in two ways.
Customers with the Online check-in service
In the case of purchasing an additional service - Online check-in (it's possible when booking an airline ticket on our website), the passenger will receive an e-mail with an electronic ticket and a link to the check-in form. Thanks to this, the passenger can provide all the necessary information for check-in before the airline opens the online check-in (usually takes place 2-4 days before departure). Our consultants will finalize this process when the airline check-in starts. You will receive your boarding pass to print. The boarding pass will be sent to the e-mail address indicated in the booking not earlier than 48 hours and not later than 8 hours before the scheduled time of departure.
Customers without the Online check-in service
If the passenger has not purchased the online check-in service, he will receive only an air ticket e-mail and notification of the date of sending the next e-mail - with the check-in form. This e-mail is sent when the airline opens the check-in (for example in the case of Ryanair - 48 hours before departure). In this case, after receiving the link to the form, you must complete the required data, and after generating the boarding card (it will be sent to the indicated mail), print it and take it to the airport.
Attention! The card can be printed immediately after receiving the e-mail or saved in the portable memory (pen drive, smartphone, portable disk, etc.) and printed at a later date, but it must be before the approach to check-in and passport control or security at the airport! The printed card should be taken with you to the airport with the identity document used for check-in. The lack of it, results in the necessity of paying a high penalty fee and in extreme cases even refusal to board the plane.
I can't check-in. What to do?
Check if a new flight schedule and a new check-in link have been sent to your e-mail address.
If the booking concerns a larger group, you shouldn't check-in more than several passengers at the same time. If there are too many passengers, when entering data from documents, the duration of the session may end. It's related to the security of your data.
Change after check-in After checking in online, Ryanair, Wizz Air, and Easy Jet allow you to change your flight date or passenger name. The cost of so-called ticket opening is 15 EUR / 15 GBP per passenger per flight. After opening the ticket, passengers may make changes in accordance with the airline's regulations and possible fees. There are restrictions on the time when such a change is possible.
Attention!
Passengers travelling with checked baggage and using the online check-in service are still required to attend standard baggage check-in at the airport.
Remember!
After the online check-in, changes to the ticket are no longer possible (except for Ryanair, Wizz Air, easyJet).
At the airport, passengers must have their printed boarding passes with them.
Boarding passes can be printed in black.
Each boarding card must be printed on a separate sheet so that one side of the card remains unprinted.
At the airport, passengers must have the same identity documents that were used when checking in online.
Passenger rights and responsibilities
Passenger rights and responsibilities within the European Union’s borders are regulated by Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 February 2004. This Regulation sets out the conditions and procedures for receiving assistance and compensation from airlines.
Denied boarding
The flight operator has the right to deny boarding to any passenger who does not follow the airline’s regulations, and/or who poses a threat to security. For example, this includes passengers who:
are under the influence of alcohol (drunk)
attempt to board the aircraft with forbidden items or pose a threat to other passengers or the aircraft
Important!
If you don’t follow the airline’s regulations as stated in the terms and conditions, you can be refused boarding or kicked off the plane with no right to any kind of compensation.
What is overbooking? Overbooking is a practice that airlines engage in when more tickets are sold than there are seats on a given aircraft. Airlines base their overbooking limits on detailed research of occupancy rates and information about the percentage of passengers who typically do not show up for boarding. This means the probability of being denied boarding is low.
Any volunteers?
Whenever such a situation occurs, it is the airline’s responsibility to find volunteers who agree to give up their booked seat and take the next available flight. If no volunteers are found, the airline selects passengers to be ‘bumped’ from the flight. The airline is obliged to pay appropriate compensation, which depends on the route and can be from 250 to 600 EUR. If there are no more flights on a given day, the airline provides accommodation and possible transportation as well.
In any case of being denied boarding, where the airline is responsible, EU Regulation 261/2004 required the airline to inform the passenger in writing about procedures for obtaining compensation and assistance.
Insurance
The best protection against being denied boarding, regardless of whether it is the passenger’s or the airline’s fault, is to buy a good insurance policy.
Remember!
In all cases of being denied boarding, you must be on time for boarding in order to receive compensation.
Flight cancellation
In case a flight is cancelled or rescheduled, or in case the airline stops operating a route, the airline is obliged to find an alternative connection for passengers or give a full refund of the flight cost.
Food and accommodation
The airline is also obliged to provide food and accommodation if an alternative connection is scheduled for a later date (for example, the next day), unless the terms and conditions of the ticket on the day of purchase explicitly state that the airline does not recognize this obligation.
If the customer chooses to receive a refund, the airline is obliged to issue one within 7 days from receiving the claim for reimbursement.
Compensation
Passengers have the right to obtain compensation between 250 and 600 EUR, depending on the route, and on the condition that the passenger was at the departure gate on time.
Substantial flight delay
Depending on the length of the scheduled flight, if the delay exceeds between 2 and 4 hours, the airline is obliged to cover the costs of food, hotel accommodation, or other services. The customer must have arrived at the departure gate on time in order for any compensation claim to be valid.
In case of a delay exceeding 5 hours, the passenger has the right to request a full refund of the ticket price as well as appropriate compensation from the airline.
When can I claim compensation?
Remember that the possibility to request compensation is not based on a delayed take-off, but rather a delayed arrival at the destination. Moreover, passengers do not have the right to compensation if the delay is due to external factors, such as severe weather conditions.
Before departure you should consider purchasing travel insurance, which will protect you against unexpected expenses that arise if your flight is delayed or cancelled.
Lost or damaged baggage during the flight
The airline is responsible for the loss or damage of your checked baggage. Before you leave, read about what your rights are in case of baggage loss or damage caused by the airline.
Special assistance at the airport: what is it and how to order it?
Travel by plane is the fastest and the safest way of travelling that is used by more and more people every day. Carriers have many cheap flights to different corners of the world in their offer, and an airline ticket can be purchased online. However, we have to go through check-in and security procedures at the airport. Unfortunately, passengers with disabilities may have problems with moving around the airport and going through the necessary security procedures. In this case, it's worth using the special assistance.
What is a special assistance?
This is the assistance that the airport employee provides to the passenger. Disabled persons with reduced mobility may use this service. Depending on the needs of the passenger, the employee can help him in the check-in process and when boarding the plane. Thanks to the presence of an airport employee, people with hearing, visual, psychological or physical disabilities can easily go through the entire preparation process and safely board the plane. If necessary, the passenger is equipped with a wheelchair or other vehicle.
Special assistance is also provided after the flight - an airport employee can help you get off the plane and aid with the baggage collecting process and security procedures. Some airports and airlines have special rooms for people with disabilities in their offer.
Who can order special assistance at the airport?
Special assistance allows for a comfortable and stress-free journey, but it's worth remembering that not every passenger can take advantage of this type of service. If the passenger is unable to understand simple massages from the personnel, use the toilet without help, hold the upper body vertically without assistance or specialized medications, the carrier may require the passenger to be accompanied by another person, at least 16 years old. The accompanying person must be healthy. In case of any doubt, it's worth contacting an airline representative in advance to determine the flight conditions.
How to order special assistance?
Special assistance at the airport is free. To use this service, please contact the carrier during the booking process or directly before the flight. You can do it by phone or by filling a special form (among other things, you must provide knowledge about the medical condition of the passenger, including the need to provide him with a wheelchair).
Attention! Individual carriers and airports independently determine the time when they should be informed about the need for special assistance. For example, some airports ask for contact at least 72 hours before the flight, and others - 48 hours before the flight. It's also worth checking the range of a special assistance service offered by a given carrier.
Special assistance for the elderly
Some airlines offer special assistance to the elderly as well. The service includes not only help at the airport, but also the possibility of choosing a more comfortable seat and the possibility of adjusting the meal on board to the passenger's diet.
Flying while pregnant. What are the rules?
Pregnancy is not a disease, and if your doctor has no specific medical concerns, you’re generally safe to fly. However, it’s very important to follow certain rules. First of all, make sure that the journey is not too long – it shouldn’t last more than three hours. If you have a connecting flight, try to book a hotel for an overnight layover.
Twin or triplet pregnancies are usually considered high-risk, so women carrying multiple babies are advised not to travel by air.
Before the flight
Consult your doctor or pregnancy care provider before boarding any flight.
Once your ‘baby bump’ is visible, ask your doctor for a letter confirming your due date and stating that you’re safe to fly; if you are taking an international flight, make sure the document is written in English.
Find out what healthcare facilities are available at your destination. If you don’t know the local language, write down some words and phrases about pregnancy, such as ‘I'm having contractions’, ‘I’m 30 weeks pregnant’, etc.
Remember to buy suitable travel insurance. Contact our Call Center if you need help or advice.
While on board
Choose an aisle seat as you may need to use the toilet more frequently.
Ask a flight attendant to help you adjust your seat belt – it should be placed below your belly.
Change position and move about frequently during the flight, especially when you become uncomfortable while sitting.
Drink plenty of water.
Flying while pregnant – the first trimester
For some expectant mothers, flying is a part of their normal working day. For others, it is the most comfortable way to reach their holiday destination, where they can relax and prepare for the challenges they will face in the months ahead. Is it safe to fly when you’re pregnant?
Flying in the first trimester of pregnant
Most doctors recommend against flying at this stage of pregnancy. The changes in pressure that occur during take-off and landing may affect the development of the fetus’s internal organs.
Remember!
Before you travel, you are strongly advised to visit a doctor to make sure that it’s safe for you and your fetus to fly.
Flying while pregnant – the second trimester
Flying in the second trimester of pregnancy
The second trimester is considered to be the safest time for air travel. Between the 18th and 24th week of pregnancy, the fetus’s organs are developed well enough that they won’t be affected by changes in pressure during the flight. However, it is recommended that you carry a medical certificate stating the estimated week of pregnancy. It may help avoid problems at the airport – airlines often won’t let you on board in the later stages of pregnancy.
Remember!
Before boarding any flight, you are strongly advised to visit a doctor to make sure that it’s safe for you and your baby to fly.
Flying while pregnant – the third trimester
Even if you feel perfectly fine, you should take care of yourself in the late stages of pregnancy to reduce the risk of preterm birth. Also, keep in mind that aircraft seats are usually uncomfortable.
Flying in the third trimester of pregnancy
In general, airlines will not allow you on board after the 34th week of pregnancy (each airline has its own regulations). In addition to preterm birth, there is a risk of circulatory problems caused by sitting for long periods of time. The rules and restrictions for pregnant travelers are set by individual airlines – for detailed information, contact our Call Center at (new 800 number).
If you decide to travel by air, ask your doctor for a note confirming the week of pregnancy. It will help avoid problems at the airport. Some airlines provide their own forms that must be filled out by a doctor.
You should also consider packing a bag with everything you may need at the hospital – just in case the delivery occurs earlier than expected.
Remember!
Before any flight, you are strongly advised to visit a doctor to make sure that it’s safe for you and your baby to fly.
Baby milk and other liquids on a plane
The rules on liquids in carry-on luggage are very strict. However, they do not apply to water, food or milk for your baby.
Milk and beverages for children on a plane
When going through security checks at the airport, you should present all the drinks that your child needs for the journey. Parents may be asked to taste any milk or food they want to bring on board.
Most airlines – both regular and low-cost – have microwaves on board, so that you can ask a flight attendant to heat your baby’s milk or food when your child gets hungry.
When traveling with older children, you can buy bottled water or juice once you’re through the security check.
Remember!
The air in a typical airplane cabin is very dry, so you should drink more than usual to stay hydrated.
Entertaining children on a plane is all about fun and games
Flying with a child can be a great challenge for parents. Whatever your child’s age, you should bring several toys and have ideas ready for some games to help you and your child pass the time during the flight. And what do children love best? Having fun together with their parents, of course!
How can I entertain my child on the plane?
The toys and games you choose depend on your child’s age and preferences. But don’t forget to keep in mind the duration and time of your flight. The best option is to fly overnight because you and your child can sleep for most of the flight. If that’s not an option, then prepare well for the journey. Flying can be a wonderful experience for your child. And while your airline will offer a children’s menu, make sure you don’t forget to take your kid’s favorite snacks.
Favorite toys
Traveling with an infant? Your company and some diapers will be enough. You can also take a rattle, or wear a necklace made of beads – your little one will be sure to treat it like a toy.
If your baby is already a few months old, you can take a ‘book’ made of cloth and other material. These kinds of toys, feature lots of pockets, strings, and hidden surprises. There are new challenges to be discovered on every page.
Older children will be full of energy. How can we keep them in their seats? Take the appropriate toys for their age, like:
a game console or a tablet with animated films saved on it to watch (take headphones and a USB cable, many planes let you plug in)
a beloved teddy bear
a pad of paper and pencils for drawing – encourage your child to use their imagination and draw what the place you’re flying to might look like, the plane, the captain, etc. – have them create an artistic record of your trip
a new toy your child hasn’t seen and will be curious to explore
hand puppets that you can use to explain to your child what's going on in the plane
Fun and games
Children get bored quickly and you’ll almost certainly run out of toys. So, what to do now? Have some ideas for games to play that don't need toys.
look for shapes of animals, buildings, monsters, etc. in the clouds
word games, like saying a word beginning with the last letter of the word before it, words starting with a specific letter, words related to a topic, etc.
use your imagination – what would you do in the clouds, on a desert island, if you were pirates, etc.
rock, paper, scissors – a classic game that can go on for hours
tell an endless story – everyone takes turns making up the next sentence to create a crazy tale.
How to get my child ready to fly?
Preparing a child for their first flight is a real challenge for every parent. A lot depends on the child's age. The younger your child, the more you’ll need to explain. And you should always start explaining early.
How to prepare my child for flying?
It’s a good idea to introduce your child to other forms of transport than a car. If you don’t use public transport often, take your toddler for a ride on a bus, tram, or train. This can help you teach your child about the rules of mass transit. It’s also equally important for children to get used to being around a lot of strangers.
You can also organize a family trip to the airport to show your child the building and let them see airplanes taking off. Try to get your kid interested in flying. Show older children how the flight radar works.
Describe the flight to your child from start to finish. Explain the check-in process, tell them about how pilots and flight attendants do their jobs, talk about the interior of the airplane and where the baggage goes. Get a map and look over your flight’s path.
At the airport and on the plane
It’s not easy, but don’t let your child get bored. When you’re at the airport, take them to an observation deck where they can admire the machines as they take off and land. And make sure you’ve prepared some interesting games to play during the journey. Get yourself ready to amuse your little one on the plane.
Luggage, strollers, and car seats on a plane
Baggage allowances for infants and children
Children under the age of 2 years old who are held by an adult and travel at 10-30% of the adult fare (regular airlines) or on a destination-based ticket (low-cost airlines) are not entitled to any baggage allowance, or their allowance is limited.
Flight tickets for children aged up to 12 years are usually 25-30% cheaper than tickets for adults. These young passengers are entitled to the same or slightly lower free baggage allowance.
As a general rule, you are permitted to take a foldable baby stroller with you at no charge. It is usually carried in the hold of the aircraft. You can take the stroller right up to the aircraft steps where it will be taken by the flight attendant and stored in the hold. Then, you will need to carry your baby up to the aircraft entrance. The stroller will be handed back to you immediately after landing.
Traveling with an infant on your lap
There are two options for traveling by plane with children under the age of 2 years old: your baby can travel in their own seat, secured in a child safety seat (usually from the age of 6 months old) or on the lap of a parent or legal guardian. The second option is much cheaper (the ticket price is usually 10-30% of the adult fare, or is fixed and depends on the destination), and sometimes it’s even free of charge.
This, however, will result in a different baggage allowance – infants are not allowed any checked luggage, or their allowance may be limited. Usually, you can check a stroller or baby basket carrier as hold baggage at no extra charge.
Safety harnesses are available on request on board of every aircraft – they should be fastened whenever the “fasten seatbelt” sign is on.
Car safety seat on board
Generally, it’s possible – or even recommended – for children to travel in a car safety seat when on board the aircraft. Just like in a car, seatbelts designed for adults do not provide little passengers with security in the way that a proper child restraint system does.
If you decide to use a child safety seat on the plane, make sure it’s appropriate for use in an aircraft. It should be labeled with a particular symbol. If the car seat does not fit safely into an aircraft seat (for example, it’s the wrong size), it can be carried in the hold for an extra charge.
Some airlines allow the use of safety seats only to a certain age, such as for children up to 3 years old.
Baby food in carry-on luggage and priority boarding
Parents can bring baby food on board – standard rules on liquids in carry-on luggage don’t apply to water, food, or milk for infants. However, parents may be asked to taste the baby food during the security check at the airport. Most airlines have microwaves on board so you can ask them to heat up bottles. Usually, they also encourage families with children to board first to help them get seated before other passengers.
Rules and regulations of different airlines
Below you will find a list of airlines and their regulations regarding baggage allowances for children: Aeroflot, Aer Lingus, Air Canada, Air France, Air Serbia, American Airlines, Austrian, Belavia, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Bulgaria Air, Cathay Pacific, Delta Airlines, easyJet, El Al, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Eurowings, Finnair, Jet2.com, LOT, Lufthansa, Norwegian, Qatar Airways, Ryanair, SAS, Singapore Airlines, Sun Express, Swiss, TAP, Turkish Airlines, Ukraine International, Vueling, Wizz Air.

Travel documents needed for children
What document does a child need to travel by plane?
Flights within the Schengen area
For flights within the Schengen area, children can travel with an ID card or a passport.
Flights outside the Schengen area
For flights outside the Schengen area, a passport is required, and sometimes a visa is necessary too (make sure you check whether your destination and transit countries require a visa).
To submit a passport application, typically both parents must appear at the passport office, or one of them may file the application with the written consent of the other parent, confirmed by a notary or by a passport authority.
Warning!
A passport issued for a child under the age of 13 years is valid for 5 years, and a passport issued for a child older than 13 years is valid for a period of 10 years from the date of issue. In justified cases (documented necessity of sudden departure, theft of a passport, etc.), it is possible to apply for a temporary passport using an expedited procedure – this passport is valid for 12 months.
Both parents must agree to their child's travel, however, the provisions of the national law don't require any special authorization when the child is traveling with one parent or with a third party, such as with the grandparents.
The fact of having a child's identity document (ID card or passport) by third parties is treated as the consent of the parents for the child's journey.
Before leaving, review the information about the procedures for travel by minor children in the countries you plan to visit. This information is typically published on the web site of each country’s embassy.
Cancellation of your booking – returning your flight ticket
Low-cost airlines
Most low-cost airlines sell non-refundable tickets for cheap flights. Except for a few clearly-defined situations, which in most cases are limited to the unpleasant circumstances of the passenger’s death or the death of a person closely related to the passenger, low-cost airlines don’t reimburse people for tickets sold.
In the case of the death of a passenger or a person related in the first line, it is necessary to provide the ticketing agent with a death certificate before reimbursement can be considered.
In the case of the death of a passenger when that passenger made the payment for the ticket, a potential refund becomes an inheritance matter and can be paid out only after a court judgment or a settlement is reached.
If a passenger requests a ticket refund before the flight, reimbursement of taxes and airport fees are included, as those taxes and fees are not paid for by the airline. However, in most cases, low-cost airlines do not refund those amounts, as they usually charge an administrative fee for processing the request for reimbursement of taxes and fees which equals the value of the taxes and fees.
Can you return your ticket due to illness with a low cost airline?
Low-cost airlines provide for returns of flight tickets only in specific situations, but if you declare inability to travel due to sickness, your case should be considered individually. Even if the Terms and Conditions do not provide for any reimbursement in a given situation, it is worth checking if the carrier might try to accommodate the passenger’s needs.
When requesting a reimbursement, you have to provide specific documentation confirming your inability to travel.
Scheduled flights
The Terms and Conditions of tickets purchased for regular scheduled flights strictly define situations in which it is possible to resign from your seat and what reimbursement is owed in such cases.
For most – but not all – airlines, even if the Terms and Conditions do not provide for reimbursement of fares for the flight, you can still try to recover taxes and fees. This is usually only possible when you do not use the entire flight. When using only part of your connections, reimbursement of the unused part of taxes and airport fees can be difficult, if not impossible.
Important!
For the seamless return of airport fees and taxes, your inability to board the flight should be reported before its scheduled departure.
Apart from reimbursement of airport fees and taxes, some airlines also provide for the return of fares for carriage – either full or partial.
Inability to board a flight can be reported to the Customer Service Call Center.
Return of a ticket on the day of its issuance is possible in some airlines. This operation requires contact with the Customer Service Call Center. From the next day on after the ticket has been issued, tickets for regular scheduled flights can be returned only in cases provided for in the fare’s Terms and Conditions.
Some fares on specific routes provide for a full refund in case of denial of a visa. To learn if a ticket you are interested in offers such a reimbursement, contact the Customer Service Call Center.
Can you return a ticket due to illness with a regular scheduled flight?
Most Terms and Conditions of regular scheduled flights limit cases of reimbursement of the cost of a flight (if the fare does not provide otherwise) to the unpleasant circumstances of the death of the passenger or a close relative.
However, in exceptional situations, when a passenger cannot take a flight, they can file a request with the airline for consideration of reimbursement, even if the fare for the ticket purchased does not normally allow this. Such a request needs to be backed by a specific reason, and special medical or official documentation needs to be attached. These documents can be sent to an employee of the Customer Service Call Center, who will forward them to the relevant office of the carrier.
Please keep in mind that each request for reimbursement due to inability to board a flight is considered on an individual basis, and airlines can refuse to refund your fare.
Remember!
The best way to protect yourself from losing money in such cases is to purchase flight insurance. Insurance for reimbursement of costs related to flight cancellations can be purchased in the ‘Insurance’ section of our website.
This insurance has to be purchased within 48 hours of the moment you book your flight, and costs are refunded up to a total of 5,000 euros
Changing the data on a flight ticket – a how-to guide
Low-cost airlines
In most cases, low-cost airlines let you change some of the data on a ticket – date, passenger name or route, depending on the Terms and Conditions of the given carrier. When it comes to low-cost airlines you will pay a fee for every change, which is given in the carrier’s price list.
Here are a few basic rules about the fees charged for making changes to a ticket:
Change of flight date: a fee is charged for each passenger for each changed leg of the journey, plus any difference in ticket prices are added for each passenger
Change of passenger name: a fee is charged for each changed name for each leg of the journey, plus the difference in ticket prices are added for each changed name
Change of route: a fee is charged for each passenger for each changed leg of the journey, plus any difference in ticket prices between the original flight(s) purchased and the new flight(s) are added.
Remember!
A flight ticket is always a personal ticket. Changing the name of a passenger can be more expensive than purchasing a new ticket.
When the price of the new flight is lower than the price of the original ticket, carriers don’t refund the difference in costs.
The costs of making changes to your flight generally depend on the difference in prices between the original flight and the flight on a new date, both when changing the flight date and when changing the passenger name.
Changes of flight direction are not possible – in other words, it is not possible to reverse the sequence of flights.
Exchanging a low-cost carrier for a flight with a traditional airline or a different low-cost carrier is not possible.
Changes to the data of the payer – not the passenger – are free of charge.
Changes can be made via the Customer Service Call Center.
Alam-Al-Raya charges a standard agency fee for making changes to a ticket. This fee is included in the total cost of the changes and is charged for each passenger whose ticket is changed.
Traditional airlines
As with low-cost airlines, traditional airlines with regularly scheduled flights allow you to make changes to tickets already issued.
Remember!
Changes to the name on the ticket for regularly scheduled flights of traditional airlines are usually not possible. If you need to change the name on a ticket, it is best to contact the Alam-Al-Raya Customer Service Call Center.
All changes and related costs are given in the Terms and Conditions of the fare for which the flight is purchased.
The cheaper the fare and price of the flight, the fewer possibilities there are to make changes.
Promotional fares or the cheapest economy-class fares usually don’t allow any changes, or if they do, there are high fees.
If you think there is a chance you will need to make changes, choose a fare that allows you to do so without high fees.
Changes to the data of the payer – not the passenger – are free of charge.
Changes can be made via the Customer Service Call Center.
Getting seats next to each other in the plane
Passengers booking tickets in groups generally want to have seats next to each other. How can we guarantee we get to sit with family and friends?
Low-cost airlines
When it comes to Ryanair, Wizz Air, or EasyJet, seats are allocated automatically during the check-in process. Specific seats can be chosen for an additional fee.
Regular airlines
With most regular airlines it is possible during check-in to choose a seat for each passenger. More and more airlines are starting to charge for this option. LOT, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, and KLM allow you to choose a seat without charge only during check-in done 24 hours before take-off.
There are also different policies – Air France and KLM randomly allocate seats to passengers traveling on the lowest fares during check-in, without the possibility of making changes.
Secure bookings and transactions in Alam-Al-Raya. How do we protect you?
Have you ever wondered how we take care of our passengers’ security? Do you know what technologies we use to protect your personal data? Read on to learn what we do for our customers to feel safe and comfortable!
Online payment security with Alam-Al-Raya
Alam-Al-Raya uses the most advanced technologies offering the highest security standards for online card payment processing. We employ TLS (Transport Layer Security) technology to guarantee safe transfer of data when making payments for travel services via our website. TLS technology ensures confidentiality in the transmission of sensitive data, such as personal data and card numbers via the Internet. You can review the certificate at any time by clicking the padlock icon displayed on the address bar in your browser.
Privacy policy
All Alam-Al-Raya activities are compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other laws governing data protection on the Internet. Privacy as well as protection against unauthorized access and other potential loss and destruction of confidential information are ensured by both technical and organizational means. To learn more, read our Privacy policy.
Personal data
The personal data that we obtain from you is essential to make proper reservations of the products and services you need. Information needed to make payment for reservations (bank name, account number, credit card number) must be re-entered each time you make a new reservation.
Alam-Al-Raya does not store sensitive data about payment cards, so any change to services covered by a reservation (e.g. changes to a flight ticket) and making additional reservations require the card data to be entered again. Bookings are made via encoded internet transmission TLS (Transport Layer Security), which enables the safe transfer of data between your browser and our reservation system.
Transfer of personal data to third parties
Our experts keep a watchful eye on the safety of Alam-Al-Raya’s users’ personal data. IT systems are constantly being reviewed for compliance with GDPR standards. We do everything possible to guarantee the best protection of your personal data.
Newsletter
Alam-Al-Raya users can subscribe to a free newsletter distributed via email. Our emails keep users informed about hot deals, special offers, new products and events related to Alam-Al-Raya and our partners. Consent to receive our newsletter can be withdrawn at any moment by clicking the Unsubscribe link located at the bottom of every email we send to you, or by sending a message through our contact form on the Alam-Al-Raya website (topic: Personal data, and then: Application – GDPR).
Payment card security systems
Payment cards are one of the most popular forms of payment. What makes them convenient is that you don’t have to worry about carrying cash everywhere you go. However, the use of payment cards also affects transaction security. Banks and payment institutions are constantly improving and developing new security systems. Currently, the most common systems are verification systems like CVC/CVV codes that are used with online payments.
How does 3-D Secure work?
To ensure the highest level of online payment protection, we use an additional authorization system called 3D Secure. When making a payment over the Internet, you may be redirected to your bank’s website.
First, on your bank’s website, the dialog “3D Secure Card Payment” will be displayed. Then, you should log in to your bank’s online banking system. After logging in, you will receive a notification via mobile app or text message with details of the transaction and a code which has to be entered into a special field on the 3D Secure webpage. Confirmation of the payment is generated only after this code is entered.
Particular payment authorization procedures may be different depending on the bank, but they always resemble the process used for logging into e-banking services.
The 3D Secure System is free and covers Visa and MasterCard payment cards.
What does online payment look like?
In the first step, the customer is asked to enter the card data. After the entered card number and cardholder data are accepted, this information is then sent to the bank that issued the card, using the services of the billing center’s agency. You might be asked for additional payment authorization, like we described above.
The connection with the Alam-Al-Raya website uses TLS technology from the moment the passenger’s data is submitted until the very end of the booking process. You can see in your browser that this system is used when the padlock icon appears on the browser’s status or progress bar.
How do we keep you secure?
Your security and trust are our most important values. That’s why we make tremendous effort to develop IT systems that meet the highest standards in safety. Our website undergoes regular security audits by both internal security engineers and external specialists. These independent audits regularly confirm that we fulfill the strict criteria set out in Payment Industry Standard PCI-DDS.
TLS Technology
We employ TLS technology. When you see the padlock icon in your browser’s address bar, this means that your payment data is safely encrypted.
3D Secure technology
Additional authorization of card-based payments using 3D Secure guarantees the strongest transaction protection.
Data protection
Credit card data is verified by banks and used exclusively for accepting one reservation at a time.
Passport or ID card?
Many countries in the European Union issue their citizens both passports and ID cards.
Both your passport and your ID card:
• state your identity (name, surname),
• certify your citizenship.
A passport is valid for crossing the border and going to virtually every country. On the other hand, you can use your ID card to travel to:
• other European Union member states,
• countries within the European Economic Area,
• countries outside the EU and EEA which permit the crossing of borders on the basis of a valid ID card.
Remember!
Before you leave, make sure your travel documents haven’t expired and check the regulations of the country you plan to travel to. Some countries require that visitors’ passports are valid for a minimum of 6 months from the planned date of return to the home country. Also, make sure you know where you can go with your ID card, and where a passport is necessary.
What documents should you take onboard a plane?
Electronic ticket number or a boarding pass
Having the number (code) of your booking or the number of your e-ticket is advised in any case, as it can make check-in seamless in many situations. Lack of a booking number, or e-ticket number can cause inability to match a name on the passengers’ list with a name shown on the ID, and as result, a denial of entering onboard the plane.
Hotel voucher
Received via e-mail, the hotel voucher should be printed and taken with you as a confirmation for the payment of the hotel. Based on the displayed voucher you will receive the keys to your room.
Insurance policy
After purchasing an insurance policy on Alam-Al-Raya you will get it sent via e-mail. You should print it and have it with you as confirmation of having insurance. If you don’t have insurance, check how to choose a proper one.
Other documents
On some routes and in some circumstances, passengers are required to have additional documents, whose displaying is the condition for the allowance to enter onboard the plane. Such documents are, among others:
Testimonial that a pregnant woman can take a flight (usually required from the 28th week, but it is worth to have it earlier)
Certificate on vaccinations (if they are required in a destination or transfer countries)
Order allowing of the carrying of a child by the airlines (if the child travels without a guardian)
Certificate from a vet and a passport for an animal (if you travel with one)
Allowance to carry weapons (if you travel with a hunting weapon)
Remember! If you’re planning a trip, make sure you bring the travel documents which will be necessary for that trip. The requirements may vary considerably, depending on the country of arrival and the transit country, if your travel includes stopovers. To be certain on what documents you should bring with yourself to your destination country, it is recommended to check the continuously updated information published on the government's website: www.gov.uk.
How can I manage my fear of flying?
The stress that some people feel when traveling by plane usually begins to show up a few weeks before the flight is scheduled to leave. How can we handle this fear?
Let’s take a look at five easy ways to help you manage the fear of flying.
1. Learn more
Read about the check-in process and the security check, as well as the details of your flight. Check the internet and learn why turbulence is a natural phenomenon that should not be feared. Knowledge of the details lets you imagine your entire journey before you set foot on the plane. The benefit you ask? There won’t be any surprise situations causing you unnecessary additional stress. The more you know, the less you fear!
2. Make yourself comfortable
Get a good night’s sleep before your flight, and make sure to wear comfortable clothes on the plane. Drink plenty of fluids before and during your flight, but avoid drinks with caffeine (coffee, strong tea) and alcohol. Eat a light meal before take-off.
3. Get to the airport early
Get to the airport earlier than airlines recommend you to. Take a walk around the airport to feel it’s ‘vibe’.
4. It’s better with company
If you have the possibility, travel with a friend or family member. Relaxing and easing the tension is easier when you can talk with someone close to you.
5. Be ready to relax!
Try to relax during your flight. Take your favorite book with you and listen to some chillout music. Airlines usually provide passengers with some entertainment, and it’s definitely worth checking out their audio-video offers. If you are traveling for holidays, just sit back and think about the wonderful time you will soon be having.
Protip!
If the thought of flying makes you panic, you should consider seeing a doctor: a prescription for a gentle tranquilizer could help you get through the feelings you experience before take-off and during the flight itself.
Jet lag - what is it and how will I know if I have it?
When traveling across time zones, you might experience severe fatigue, irritation, headache, and trouble concentrating. We frequently call this collection of symptoms “jet lag”. This is one example of what happens to our body when we disturb the natural rhythm of day and night.
Jet lag symptoms are even worse when you’re traveling to the east – our body finds it easier to cope with a longer day than to “lose” several hours while heading east.
Tips for travelers going west
Before you take off
A couple of days before you leave, start training your body to adapt to time shifts - try going to bed an hour or two later than usual
While on board
Do your best NOT to sleep. Here are some tips for staying awake:
Change position and move a lot
Drink a lot of water.
Eat food rich in protein (like cheese, fish, eggs) – this will help you stay awake
After you arrive
Once the plane touches down, don’t give in to tiredness; wait until the evening and then go to sleep
Take full advantage of daylight – it will help you fight sleepiness
Plan important meetings for the morning hours – this is when you will be at your best
Tips for travelers going east
Before you take off
You can help manage jet lag by getting your body ready for the time shift a few days before you leave
Try going to sleep and getting out of bed earlier than usual
While on board
Try to sleep. Foods rich in carbohydrates (fruit juice, potatoes, pasta, yogurt) will help you doze off
Avoid sleeping pills and alcohol. Instead, use natural methods for helping you get to sleep, like herbal tea
After you arrive
Plan important meetings for the evening hours – this is when you will be at your best
General advice
Avoid alcohol, because it makes it harder for your body to adapt
Drink a lot of water during the flight
Remember to set your watch to the time at your destination. Do this right after you get on the plane. This will help you mentally switch to the new day rhythm
Do your best to adjust to your destination’s schedule of meals, sleep hours, etc.
For the first few days after you arrive, avoid heavy physical effort and mental strain
Spend as much time as possible outdoors
If you take medicines at strictly defined hours, consult your physician before the journey
Medicines in hand luggage on a plane
Passengers often have doubts about what medicines are allowed in their hand luggage. In spite of appearances, rules are quite straightforward.
What medicines are allowed on a plane?
Rules concerning travelling with liquids are not referring to medicines. Onboard you can take pills, syrups, ampules with injections, drops, balms etc., medicines that are needed during the journey. It also applies to medicines sold without prescription.
Transport of medical devices onboard
Onboard you can also take all medical devices that are necessary during the journey, including injections, insulin pumps, glucometers and inhalers. People that use crutches or dentures can also take them onboard. What is important to note, is that accessories aiding in movement do not reduce the limit of the baggage weight.
When it comes to wheelchairs, things are a bit different. Depending on the rules of the airline and the plane on which we travel. Wheelchairs are either taken onboard or placed in a storage. In this second situation, a disabled person has to move to a special wheelchair provided by the airport. The crew will take the original wheelchair to a storage. After landing, it is given back to the passenger, as soon as feasible.
Security check at the airport
During the personal security check, you have to prepare for the checking of all your medical accessories and medicines. Though it is not always required, it is worth to have on you a paper from a doctor confirming the necessity of possessing the given medicines or medical accessories. In case of doubts, such a document allows for a smooth and seamless security check.
Nutritional advice and travel hygiene
To avoid unpleasant gastric ailments when traveling abroad, take special precautions regarding the basic rules of hygiene and nutrition:
DO NOT drink tap water in exotic countries and anywhere you know or suspect it is not drinkable.
Always wash your hands before eating and after a visit to a restroom.
Take antibacterial hand gel with you and use it in case you have no access to running water and soap.
Wash and peel fruit and vegetables – especially those bought at local markets in tropical countries. If there is no such possibility, soak them for 20 minutes in sanitized water (ask your pharmacist for water purification pills).
Eat at popular restaurants – lots of clients means fresh and tasty food. Be careful with sea food, fruits, ice cream, cream cakes, etc. – if you suspect they may be out of date, look for another place where you can eat.
Always check expiry dates of food products.
Diarrhea
Unfortunately, diarrhea is a disorder that most tropical countries visitors must cope with, it can also occur in less exotic destinations. If you are forced to visit the restroom up to three times a day, you should be able to control the symptoms with popular nonprescription medicines, such as medicinal charcoal, Smecta or Stoperan. Be sure to have them in your first aid travel kit.
During the discomfort, eat only easily digestible foods: rusks, gruel, or overcooked white rice for example. Also avoid drinking fruit juice – they increase diarrhea. Try switching to herbal tea instead, e.g., chamomile or mint.
If problems increase, persist for a few days, or are accompanied by fever and severe stomachache, seek medical advice.
Vaccinate before travel!
Vaccinations are highly recommended particularly for passengers heading to tropical countries. You can get vaccinated at a Provincial Sanitary-Epidemiological Station or other specialized medical institutions. You can find a list of such outposts on the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate website.
Remember!
Depending on the type of vaccination, it is best to take it 6 to 8 weeks before travelling, and no later than 4 weeks before your journey.
Vaccination is particularly important if you plan to travel to rural areas, woodlands or places of insufficient sanitary conditions.
Undergo all vaccinations that are considered obligatory by international or local law. Otherwise, you risk being stopped at the border of some countries.
Vaccination regulations in different countries change frequently, so before you go, get up to date on all obligatory and recommended vaccinations.
Glossary of diseases
Yellow fever
A virus disease spread by mosquitoes, common in the northern parts of South America and Africa. It may be lethal. While entering several countries where yellow fever vaccination is obligatory, you will need to present a special “yellow booklet” with an immunization certificate. In Poland, it is only possible to get yellow fever vaccination in authorized centers indicated by the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate.
Tetanus and diphtheria
Tetanus is an acute contagious disease – it may be even fatal – with severe cases. The tetanus bacteria often enter the body through an infected wound, that is why vaccination is recommended for individuals doing extreme sports and those setting off for terrain trips where it is easy to get injured. Diphtheria is also an acute contagious disease – its main symptoms include fever, vomiting, sore throat, and difficulties with swallowing.
Hepatitis A
A viral disease common in tropical countries and areas of insufficient sanitary conditions. Typical symptoms include gastrointestinal problems, weakness, drowsiness, headaches and lack of appetite. Hepatitis A is usually transmitted by exposure to fluids and secretions of a sick person, or by ingesting contaminated food or drink. Hepatitis A vaccination is recommended for travelers all around the world.
Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B infection is generally transmitted by blood (transfusions, surgical instruments, syringes, tattooing, and acupuncture), and – to a lesser extent – through sexual contact. Vaccination is recommended for people at risk of such exposure, all around the world.
Typhoid
Typhoid is an acute infectious disease widespread in all exotic countries with a hot climate. Vaccination is highly recommended to travelers who are planning a longer stay in rural areas of tropical countries. To minimize the risk of infection, get vaccinated in advance and when abroad follow all sanitary regulations – wash fruit and vegetables before eating them and only drink water from reliable sources. People suffering from typhoid need to be treated in a hospital.
Poliomyelitis (Heine-Medin disease)
A highly infectious viral disease that mainly affects children. The virus is transmitted through contaminated food and water. First symptoms include fever, stiff neck, fatigue, headache, and vomiting, but the disease may also cause damage to the nervous system and cause muscle paralysis. Vaccination is the most effective method of prevention.
Meningococcal Meningitis
The risk of contracting the disease occurs mainly in central Africa, but incidents also occur in Asia and South America. First symptoms include stiff neck, headache, and rash.
Malaria
A malaria vaccine has not been developed yet – prophylactic medicines are commonly used instead. This mosquito-borne disease is widespread in over 100 countries of Southeast Asia, Africa and South America (tropical areas). Malaria symptoms resemble the symptoms of influenza – fever, muscle pain and chills. If these symptoms occur, seek medical advice immediately.
Dengue
It is the most common disease transmitted by mosquitoes in tropical countries. Typical symptoms include fever, headache, joint pain (arthralgia), and in severe cases – bleeding. You can only prevent dengue by protecting yourself against insects.
Rabies
It is a viral disease that causes lethal encephalitis. The risk of developing rabies is higher in tropical countries, but it can be prevented by getting vaccinated in advance.
Remember!
If you are planning a journey to the tropics, it is of utmost importance to buy travel insurance! You will find it useful as the insurance should cover any medical expenses you might incur while abroad.
10 things you need to know before traveling by plane
1. Things you can’t take in your luggage
Explosive and flammable substances are forbidden in hand luggage and checked baggage by every airline. These include gas torches, firecrackers, and kindling for barbeques.
For safety reasons, you can’t hold in your hand luggage (what you take into the plane) objects that could be used as a weapon. For example, sharp scissors, tools, or corkscrews.
The most restrictive rules concern liquids. You can’t take more than 10 bottles with a capacity of 100 ml each in your hand luggage, all such bottles must be packed in one transparent bag with a capacity of 1 liter. You can have medicine in your hand luggage, including in liquid form, but only in an amount that is indispensable during the flight.
2. Packing suitcases is an art
Each airline has its own rules about the size and weight of hand luggage and checked baggage. It is important not to take bags that exceed these limits because you’ll pay a large fee for oversize luggage at the airport.
Most airlines, let you take a second, smaller bag onto the plane together with your hand luggage – something like a handbag or rucksack with a laptop. Pack your luggage in a way that makes it easy for you to take something out during a security check.
Checked baggage will travel a long way before it returns to your hands. That is why it is so important to make sure nothing sticks out, like belts, zippers, pins, etc. If you attach a sleeping bag and foam mattress to your rucksack, pack everything in stretch foil. This way you’ll be sure that nothing gets damaged or falls out.
3. Be ready for check-in
Your luggage isn’t the only thing that will be checked at the airport. You also have to go through a personal security check. When it’s your turn, take a basket located near the conveyor belt, empty your pockets and put everything into the basket, take off your jacket, jumper, scarf, trouser belt, etc. and put those things into a basket as well.
Your things will go through a scanner on a conveyor belt and you will walk through a special gate. Airport staff can also ask you to remove your shoes if the alarm goes off.
4. Each country has its own rules
In the European Union, customs rules about transporting alcohol, tobacco, food, and plants are the same in most countries. When you go outside the EU, each country has its own rules. The penalty for traveling with forbidden goods or having too much of a particular product also depends on the rules of each country. The gentlest form of punishment is destruction of the goods. However, in many countries in the Middle East, for example, there is a huge fine for transporting alcohol.
Rules can also apply to cash or valuable objects like pieces of art, historical objects, and parts of animals under protection, like ivory.
5. Be dressed for flying
It seems like a small thing, but you really should pay attention to the clothes you wear. The longer the flight lasts, the more uncomfortable you might feel in the wrong outfit.
Comfort is the most important thing! Make sure that nothing squeezes or scratches you during a long flight. Even if you are traveling in the middle of the summer, take socks and a jumper on board. The air conditioning is always running on the plane, so you will probably feel cold.
If you have long hair, tie it up low on your neck so it won’t disturb you when you lay your head down on your seat.
6. Keep your mobile in airplane mode
Even though we can read more and more articles saying that mobile phones don’t disrupt the functioning of airplanes, most airlines enforce a ban on the use of mobile phones during a flight. The exception to that rule is using a mobile in airplane mode, which is available in most types of phones.
Some planes offer a Wi-Fi network onboard. In most cases, you’ll pay an extra fee for this service.
7. You can take food onboard
It is not true that you can’t take food on an airplane. If you don’t purchase meals onboard, you can get hungry during a flight. Take some snacks or sandwiches with you, just be sure they don’t smell too strongly and don’t leave crumbs around. There are restrictions on drinks. To avoid them, buy your drinks in the departure lounge after going through the security check.
Food for children is a different story. Parents or guardians can take milk and other food for children on a plane. During security checks, they should be shown to security staff. In most cases, a parent has to try a child’s food in order to be allowed to take it onboard. You can heat food using a microwave oven on most planes.
8. Candy is not just for kids
During take-off and landing, changes in pressure can cause discomfort in your ears. If you happen to suffer from a runny nose, it can be quite unpleasant. There are a few ways to deal with this problem.
Try swallowing your saliva, chewing some gum, or sucking on a candy. This should help relieve the symptoms. If you have issues with a runny nose, use nose drops half an hour before take-off and landing.
If a fear of flying causes you to have stomach problems, make sure you’re properly prepared for the flight. Get enough sleep before you leave, eat a light meal, and try to bring a pleasant distraction to focus on – it can be a book to read, some favorite music to listen to, or a paper and pencil for drawing.
9. Kids get bored
Every kid, even the biggest airplane fan, gets bored after a while without much movement. Be prepared for this moment. If you can’t take your child’s favorite toys with you, a piece of paper and crayons should be enough. Suggest drawing pictures of your child’s journey – what the plane looks like, the airport, the landscape, etc.
You can also play games that don’t need equipment, like rock–paper–scissors, making up words that start with the last letter of the previous word, etc. You can also make up stories – guessing what places you’re flying over now, what shapes you see in the clouds, etc.
10. Kids can visit the pilots’ cabin
Of course, this is under condition that the pilots agree. Don’t bother asking about it before take-off, because pilots are very busy then. Ask a stewardess during the flight if your child can visit the cabin after landing. If there is no delay and the crew is not in a hurry, there is a good chance that the captain will walk you through the cabin.
Some airlines have special loyalty programs for kids – they get points for miles traveled that can be exchanged for a tour of the cabin.
How much alcohol can you carry on a plane?
The amount of alcohol passengers are allowed to carry onto a plane depends on the route you’re traveling on. There are different customs restrictions within the European Union and outside of it.
How much alcohol can you carry on a plane?
Within the European Union
Limits on the amount of alcohol within the borders of the European Union apply to passengers traveling only within those borders.
One passenger can carry in hand luggage and checked baggage a total of:
10 liters of spirits (vodka) or
20 liters of reinforced wine (port, sherry) or
90 liters of wine (or maximum 60 liters of sparkling wine) or
110 liters of beer
Outside the European Union
When your flight takes you between two countries outside the European Union, or when one country is in the EU while the other is not, the limits are much lower.
One passenger can carry in hand baggage and checked luggage a total:
1 liter of spirits (vodka) or
4 liters of wine or
16 liters of beer.
Important!
Alcohol cannot be carried by a person who is less than 17 years old.
Important!
Remember that safety restrictions on hand luggage mean you can carry a maximum of 1 liter of liquids in bottles not bigger than 100 ml each. This does not apply to liquids bought in the departures hall after you have gone through the security check. In this case, products you buy have to fit into your hand luggage. The weight and size of hand luggage depend on your airline’s rules and travel class.
Important!
The information given above is primarily about customs regulations. Each airline has its own limits on the maximum weight and size of checked luggage. Usually, one suitcase can’t weigh more than 32 kg. Depending on the airline, route, and travel class, additional charges can be applied to each piece of luggage.
How to dress for a flight?
At first glance, this question might seem a bit silly, but it turns out that a lot of people – especially passengers traveling for the first time – aren’t dressed appropriately for the conditions they encounter on the plane. Remember that the most important thing isn’t fashion: it’s comfort.
What to wear on the plane?
The longer the flight, the more important comfort is. Whenever possible, it's best to wear sweatpants, trousers made of soft material, or leggings. Add a t-shirt or loose tunic and comfortable shoes, and you’ve got the perfect outfit for your time on the plane.
We certainly don't recommend stiff jeans. Tight shirts and short skirts are also a bad idea. However, even if it’s warm on the ground you should definitely take a jumper and socks on the plane because air conditioning is always working on board during the flight and you can feel cold.
What about your hair? Owners of long hair will certainly prefer to tie it up – the air in the cabin is very dry and the backrests on seats are high. Your hair can pick up static. The most comfortable solution will be to tie it low on the neck or to make a loose braid. A ponytail or a bun can be uncomfortable when leaning back.
Of course, what you wear is your personal decision, but in business class, we might feel uncomfortable in sweatpants when everyone else is dressed in suits. That’s why you should find a good balance between comfort and class.
Roaming charges – what will I pay to use my mobile when traveling?
In June 2017, roaming charges in the European Union were abolished. Most people think this means the days of additional costs for phone calls, text messages, and data are long gone. Not exactly! EU law allows for exceptions from this rule, and those exceptions are eagerly used by the mobile network operators.
How much will roaming cost within the European Union?
On the surface, the new EU rules say we shouldn’t pay any additional costs for using our mobile phone within the borders of the EU. But in fact, customers of some mobile operators in EU countries will be charged for phone calls, sending text messages, and downloading data from the Internet. This applies only to “exceptional situations” and is allowed under EU law.
Does everyone have to pay for the roaming in the EU?
Thankfully, additional roaming charges aren’t a problem for all customers. Some mobile network operators have introduced charges that are only calculated when you use your mobile abroad more often than in your home country for a period of 30 days. Before you travel, it’s best to check the terms and conditions of your mobile offer and make sure you know what services you’ll have to pay extra for.
What are the roaming charges outside the European Union?
These changes for phone calls, text messages, and Internet use do not apply to the countries outside the European Union. When you leave the EU, you’ll have to pay more for using your mobile. Before travelling, make sure you check the roaming charges and rates for the country you’re traveling to. Remember that charges will probably be higher than when you’re roaming inside the EU.
What cosmetics can you take on board?
Quantity limits and restrictions do not apply to cosmetics taken in the check-in luggage. In the hand luggage all of the liquid products including gels, aerosols etc. must be carried in the 100ml containers. They must be brought in a transparent bag of a maximum capacity of 1 litre.

For Alam-Al-Raya reservations, the rental car company will not check your credit history or review your credit score.
When you make a reservation using our Retail or Pay Now service, the rental car company may perform a credit check to determine credit worthiness at the time of rental. Be sure to read the location specific rental policies and rules during the request process.
Please note that for all reservations, the rental company may also verify that you have enough funds to cover the security deposit by placing a hold or an authorization for the total amount of the deposit on the card you used to purchase your reservation. If they do authorize your card for the security deposit, they will release the hold or authorization when you drop off your car. Please note that any funds used for the security deposit cannot be accessed until after the car is returned.

Rental Car Age Restrictions
alamalraya.com offers car rentals to drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 years old in select locations. Rentals for drivers between the ages of 18 and 20 are available in New York only. Enter the details of your trip and we'll tell you if we can fulfill your request.
Please keep in mind that rental companies charge renters under the age of 25 a Young Renter Fee. These fees typically start at 20 USD per day and can be as much as 50 USD per day for high cost locations or more desirable car types. So a rental car that normally costs 30 USD per day could cost an underage driver at least 50 USD per day. With Name Your Own Price, you should include these additional fees in your offer price. If your request is accepted, you will not be charged Young Renter Fees at the rental counter.
Alam-Al-Raya Pointer: All drivers will be required to present a valid driver's license in order to pick up a vehicle and each driver's age will be verified. If the driver's age was misrepresented during the Priceline offer process, the driver will be subject to underage fees at the rental counter or denied rental. Priceline is not responsible for rental car cancellations due to age misrepresentation.

1. A valid U.S. driver's license or a valid driver's license issued from your country of residence and an International Driver's Permit -- you'll need to present it at the rental counter to prove your identity, verify your birth-date and, if necessary, for a driving record check. For international reservations, you may also be required to present your passport.
2. Your Alam-Al-Raya Rental Car Itinerary/Receipt, which is available on our website. Just visit the homepage and click the link under My Account in the top right-hand corner. Also, if you purchased Collision Damage Insurance with your rental car reservation, please highlight it on your itinerary and bring it with you, in case they ask you to purchase insurance.
3. A valid major credit card with enough available funds to cover the amount of the refundable security deposit. The amount for the security deposit varies for each rental car company and depends upon car type, rental period, and optional items accepted. Some rental car companies also accept debit cards but may have additional requirements. Please note that the driver will not be allowed to use a pre-paid/stored value card or leave a cash deposit in lieu of a credit card or debit/check card.
4. For some Pay Now reservations only, the credit card used at booking must be presented at the rental counter for confirmation of the reservation. However, a different credit card in the driver’s name may be used at the counter. Refer to your checkout page to confirm the requirements needed to pick up the car. The credit card must have enough funds to cover the refundable security deposit.
5. Some rental companies may require proof of insurance coverage. Refer to the rental partner's policy for details.
If you are a local renter and you will be using a debit card at the counter, you may be asked to provide some additional forms of identification, such as a recent utility bill or payment stub. For more specific information, please review your location's specific rental policy.
Debit cards are not accepted for some Pay Now reservations. Refer to your checkout page to determine acceptable forms of payment

Mid-Size | Full-Size |
Luxury | Mini Van |
Cargo Van (available for select locations) | Standard |
Premium | Convertible |
SUV (Standard, Mid-Size, and Full-Size) | Fun Rides (available for select locations) |
For U.S. locations, our web site includes a full description of each car type, including the typical number of passengers and pieces of luggage each will accommodate. Rental car companies carry a variety of makes and models for each car type listed above, so, neither Priceline nor the rental car company is able to guarantee the specific make or model you will receive at the rental counter.
When you make a reservation using our service, you are guaranteed a non-smoking car. To book a smoking car, please use our Retail rental car service. Also, please check with the rental car company you would like to use to ensure that you will be able to reserve a smoking car before you make your reservation.
Rental days are calculated on a 24-hour clock. In order to avoid being charged an additional day, you will need to enter the same pick up and drop off time.
For example, if you request a rental car for pick up on Friday at 9:00 am and drop off on Saturday at 9:00 am, which is considered a one day rental. However, if you request a rental car for pick-up on Friday at 9:00 am and drop-off on Saturday at 12:00 pm noon, it is considered a TWO-DAY rental, because rental days are calculated in 24 hour time blocks.
If you return your car later than the scheduled drop-off date and time you may be charged for additional rental hours or days at the discretion and prevailing rate of your rental car company.
How long can I rent a car?
For Retail reservations, you can rent a car for a maximum of 10 months
For Deals, you can rent a car for a maximum of 28 days.
Can I place a request if I am not a U.S. resident?
Yes. The driver may be asked to present a valid International driver's license or passport when picking up a rental car outside his/her country of residence. The driver must also present a credit card in his/her name upon arrival at the rental counter. Most rental car companies accept international credit cards. Please review the rental company's policies when placing your request for more details.
Can I book a one-way rental through Alam-Al-Raya?
Yes. You can book a rental car reservation with a different pick-up and drop-off location (also known as a "one-way" rental). Please note that when you use our Retail service, there may be a "drop off" fee charged by the rental car company. This fee would be included if you booked an Deals reservation.
Can I make a reservation for someone else?
You can submit a request for a rental car that someone else will be driving as long as you enter the driver's full name and age in the "Driver" field during booking. The driver must also meet the following requirements:
Has a valid driver's license issued in his or her full name. Non-U.S. residents must present a valid international driver's license from his/her home country. A passport may be required
Has a valid credit card with available funds for the refundable security deposit. Most locations also accept debit cards. The amount for the security deposit varies for each rental car company and depends upon car type, rental period, and optional items accepted
Meets the minimum age requirements. The driver must be at least 21 years of age (or 24 in some locations). Rentals for drivers aged 18 and older are available in New York only.
When you initial the request on our Web site you are indicating that the DRIVER accepts all of Alam-Al-Raya’s Rental Cars' Terms and Conditions and that the driver will be denied rental if any of the above criteria are not met.
Yes. When searching our site, we will provide you with the available options based on the itinerary details you enter on our website.
Taxes, Fees, and Surcharges Cost
Different policies apply based on the type of rental car reservation you purchased.
When you use our Retail service, we will provide you with a breakdown of the estimated taxes, fees and surcharges that may apply to your transaction. We will not charge you for these taxes, fees and surcharges, but the car rental supplier will charge you taxes, fees and surcharges at the time you rent your car.
For Pay Now reservations, the amount you will pay for taxes and fees will be displayed to you prior to purchase. For Pay Now reservations that are pre-paid in full, the rental car company will not charge additional taxes and fees unless you accept an upgrade or purchase incidentals at the counter. For Pay Now reservations where you are only charged for the base rate at the time of booking, the taxes and fees portion of the reservation will be charged at the counter by the rental car company.
For reservations, in connection with facilitating your rental car transaction, we will charge your debit or credit card, in addition to the price per day, a charge for Taxes and Fees (an amount that will always be disclosed to you before you elect to proceed). This charge includes an amount to recover the amount we pay to the rental car supplier in connection with your reservation for taxes, fees and surcharges owed by the rental car supplier including, without limitation, sales and use tax, excise tax, value added tax, airport or facility taxes, surcharges or fees and/or other similar taxes, surcharges or fees. The amount of this charge is intended by us to be sufficient to cover the maximum amount we may be required to pay to a rental car supplier, and may be greater or less than the amount we actually pay the rental car supplier in connection with your reservation for taxes, fees and surcharges. The balance of the charge for Taxes and Fees is a fee which we retain as part of the compensation for our services and to cover the costs of your reservation, including, for example, customer service costs and additional fees which may be charged from time to time by the rental car suppliers. The charge for Taxes and Fees varies based on a number of factors, including, without limitation, the amount you pay to Priceline and the location at which you will pick-up your car from the rental car supplier.
We are not the vendor collecting and remitting taxes to the applicable taxing authorities. The rental car companies, as vendors, bill all applicable taxes to us and we pay over such amounts directly to the vendors. We are not a co-vendor associated with the vendor with whom we reserve our customer's travel arrangements. Taxability and the appropriate tax rate and the type of applicable taxes vary greatly by location.
In the unlikely event that an unauthorized use of your credit card occurs, immediately notify your credit card issuer. The appropriate 800 number is usually located on the back of the card. It is critical that you contact your credit card issuer directly; they will explain the specific steps required to report suspected fraud.
If you have experienced unauthorized charges from our website, please complete our Fraud Report Form (after reporting the activity to your credit card issuer) so that we can take the necessary steps to prevent further use of the credit card(s) in question at Alam-Al-Raya.
When will I be charged for my rental car?
Alam-Al-Raya reservations: We immediately charge the credit card you provided on the website for the full amount of the rental plus Taxes and Fees
Additional options (insurance, upgrades, gasoline, etc.) may be added at the rental counter based on availability but are not included in your Alam-Al-Raya rental. You will be charged for these items (and any applicable taxes, fees and surcharges) by the rental company directly when you pick-up or drop-off your car.
If you used our Retail service: When you choose your rental car company and your exact rate Priceline will provide an estimate of what the rental car company will charge you when you rent the car. This estimate is based on information available from the rental car company directly and includes an estimate of taxes, fees, and surcharges that may apply to your transaction at the time of reservation. It does not include the Young Renters Fee (drivers under 25), any additional gas, fees, or other surcharges.
Some Pay Now reservations are paid in full and your method of payment will be charged at the time of booking. For other Pay Now reservations, you will be charged at the time of booking for only the base rate, and the taxes and fees portion of the reservation will be charged at the counter by the rental car company. Amounts due at the time of booking will be specified on your checkout page.
If you have any questions about what you've been charged - check your paperwork! Any questions concerning optional items accepted at the counter should be directed to the rental company. Can I pick-up or drop-off my rental car early?
For Retail Rental Car reservations, you can make changes to your reservation on our website, if it is before your scheduled pick-up time.
For Alam-Al-Raya Deals, and Pay Now reservations, Alam-Al-Raya cannot guarantee that you can pick up your rental car early. In most cases, however, if you're just picking your car up a few hours early on your scheduled pick-up date, the rental company will do their best to accommodate you if cars are available. You can return your rental car early; however, you will not receive a refund for any unused time. Please call the rental car partner for needed accommodation.
Please Note: If you pick up the rental car earlier and still plan to drop it off at the same reserved time, you may incur additional charges directly from and payable to the rental car company.
Can I extend my Alam-Al-Raya rental car reservation?
Once you pick up your car, you will be dealing directly with the rental car company. Your rental agreement will state the hourly and daily rates that will apply if you choose to extend your rental. Please note, the extra time will be charged to you by the partner at the prevailing retail rate.
Alam-Al-Raya cannot extend your Alam-Al-Raya rental because our rental car partners choose whether to accept your offer based on the exact combination of pick-up date, drop-off date, car type and location you select while on our website. We know our no changes and no refunds policy is strict, but it's the agreement that keeps this great service available and the reason the major car rental companies allow you to save so much money with Alam-Al-Raya.
What if I made a mistake while making my reservation?
When you rent a car using our Alam-Al-Raya service, you do not have the option to change or cancel the reservation. This is the reason our rental car partners provide discounted rates.

Info on My Collision Damage Coverage
Collision Damage Coverage is an optional coverage plan which can be purchased on our website either during the reservation process or in some cases after the reservation is confirmed. Some reservations may offer the option to add insurance to your reservation on your itinerary.
Collision Damage Coverage can be purchased for only 11 USD per day. Please remember, while no payment is required for your rental car reservation until you pick up the vehicle (for Retail reservations), Collision Damage Coverage is charged immediately to your credit card at the time of booking your reservation, or when you add it to your existing reservation. Currently, Collision Damage Coverage is only available to residents of the United States.
While the vehicle is in your possession and is damaged due to collision, theft, vandalism, windstorm, fire, hail or flood, you are subject to pay a lesser amount for the total cost of car repairs, additional charges imposed by the rental car company, or the actual cash value of the car. The coverage offered on our website provides a cost- effective way to protect yourself against unforeseen damages or theft. There is also no deductible.
Alam-Al-Raya's plan is primary coverage, meaning that you do not have to claim payment from any other insurance plan before receiving coverage under this plan. This helps avoid filing a claim with your personal auto insurance and risking insurance rates increasing in the future.
This coverage is very similar to the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) that the car rental companies try to sell customers at the time of renting a car. Like the CDW, this coverage provides reimbursement to the person purchasing the plan for charges incurred due to loss or damage of the rental car. It is possible that agents at the counter may try to sell you their plan. Please note that while this coverage is similar to the CDW offered by the rental car companies, certain benefits, limits, terms and exclusions may differ.
If you have additional questions about Collision Damage Coverage, contact AIG, our partner and insurance provider, at 1 AIG or learn more at AIG.
Please Note: Your car rental cannot exceed 45 consecutive days to be eligible. Exotic and specialty vehicles (e.g. campers, trailers, motorcycles, RV's, etc.), are not covered.
Click here for a complete list of excluded vehicles.
When I cancel my rental car reservation, can I also cancel my Collision Damage Coverage?
Cancellations with 100% refund will be permitted for Collision Damage Insurance up until your scheduled pick up time. If you choose to cancel your reservation, a cancellation will be processed for both your rental car reservation and the insurance. If you still need a rental car, you may go back online to place a new request.

Car on holiday. How to rent a car cheap?
Flight for your dreamt holidays, stay at the hotel and sightseeing. How to organize your holidays not to waste time and money, and at the same have the freedom to move in the neighborhood easily? We advise you to rent a car! Despite appearances car rental does not have to be expensive. It’s enough to do it wisely.
Ways to rent a car for less!
Car rental doesn't have to be expensive. You can rent a car at a good price if you use few tricks and plan your trip in advance.
Take a child seat with youA stroller and a child seat can usually be taken on-board at no extra charge. After arrival, the seat can be used in the car. Why not use this opportunity to save on renting a child seat?
Rent cheaper – without extra equipment
Another way of renting a car cheaper is to resign from additional equipment, for example, GPS navigation system, which can be additionally paid. We recommend this offer mainly to those travelling in the European Union, especially that roaming fees have been cancelled and using your phone abroad (especially as a navigating advice) will not make you pay additional fees. Simply, before renting a car, think if you really need additional equipment and choose the version best for you.
Free cancellation
What if we change our mind and our holiday plans? Rebook the tickets, opt for sunbathing on the hotel beach or just decide that the car will no longer be needed? If you book a car on Alam-Al-Raya, you’ll get a free cancellation up to 48 hours before the pick-up. It means that no money will be blocked on your card.
Pick-up at the arrival airport, drop at the departure airport
Major car rental companies enable you to drop off the car at a different location than a pick-up place. It's very good news especially for bargain hunters, who often find very attractive deals with different airports of arrival and departure. In this situation, the car is not only a way to travel easily during holidays, but also a means of transport for a way back. Car rental price is then compensated by the low price of flight tickets.
Down Payment Insurance
Down Payment Insurance, or Full Coverage Insurance, gives you an opportunity to reduce your car repair costs in the event of, for example scratching the vehicle.
Upon handover of the vehicle, the car rental company blocks the predefined amount on the driver’s credit card. This is known as your contribution or security deposit. If the vehicle is damaged, the deposit blocked on the card will cover the repair costs. Full Cover Insurance gives the possibility of reimbursement of costs covered with own contribution.
Full Cover Insurance includes:
bodywork, roof, chassis,
windows, mirrors, wheels, tires,
engine, clutch, battery,
snapping the vehicle shut or loss of keys,
basic taxi fares and towage,
administrative fees,
so-called immobilization fees.
Fuel Policy of Car Rental Companies
Each of the available car rentals sets the fuel policy individually. You can learn the fuel policy at the start of reservation. You can also find information about the fuel policy of the selected rental company on the reservation voucher and on the rental agreement signed upon collection of the car.
Types of fuel policy used by rental companies:
Full tank – you rent a car with a full tank and you must return it fully refueled as well,
Prepaid gas – you rent a car with a full tank, for which you pay in advance. Return the vehicle with the tank as empty as possible; some rentals refund money for unused fuel,
Free tank – the rental price includes a full fuel tank.
Most rentals use the first solution – you pick up and hand over the car with a full tank.
Your Contribution, or Deposit
Your contribution is the amount to which the lessee is responsible for any damage to the car. Blocking a certain amount on the driver’s credit card is a standard procedure used by all car rentals. The amount of your contribution depends primarily on the vehicle class. It is determined in advance during the car reservation stage. Money is blocked on the card upon collecting the vehicle. It may take up to 7 business days until the blocked deposit is returned.
You can also purchase Full Security to minimize the costs associated with possible repairs of the rented vehicle.

Take a child seat with you
A stroller and a child seat can usually be taken on-board at no extra charge. After arrival, the seat can be used in the car. Why not use this opportunity and save on renting a child seat?
Rent cheaper – without extra equipment
Another way of renting a car for lessr is to resign from using additional equipment, for example, the GPS navigation system can be used via a mobile rather than through the car. We recommend this mainly to those travelling in the European Union. Now that roaming fees have been cancelled using your phone abroad (especially as a navigating advice) will not result in you paying additional fees. Before renting a car, think if you really need additional equipment and choose the version best suited for you.
Free cancellation
What if we change our mind and our holiday plans? Rebook the tickets, opt for sunbathing on the hotel beach or just decide that the car will no longer be needed? If you book a car on Alam-Al-Raya, you’ll get free cancellation up to 48 hours before the pick-up. This means that no money will be blocked on your card.
Pick-up at the arrival & drop off at the departure airport
Major car rental companies enable you to drop off the car at a different location than the pick-up place. This is very good news especially for bargain hunters, who often find very attractive deals with different airports of arrival and departure. In this situation, the car is not only a way to travel easily during the holidays, but also a means of transport for a way back. Car rental price is then compensated by the low price of the flight tickets.
Can I rent a car without having a credit card?
Rentals, when transferring a car, require a deposit in the form of blocking a certain amount on the credit card. This is a standard procedure used by rental car companies. Such a deposit guarantees the rental company that possible costs of damage to the car or its equipment will be covered by the customer. As a rule, car rentals do not accept debit cards, virtual credit cards or prepaid cards.
Do I have to pay additional fees when collecting the car?
At Alam-Al-Raya, we present the best possible prices for car rentals. In some cases, however, it may happen that you will have to pay additional fees at the rental agency when picking up the vehicle.
All possible additional fees will be specified during booking and on the reservation voucher. Most often they concern:
• fees related to the location of the collection, for e.g. airport fees charged by the airport due to the use of the airport space,
• fees related to the additional equipment of the car for winter conditions,
• fees for additional equipment ordered, for e.g. GPS navigation, child seats, roof rack, etc.

Beverage policies vary greatly among cruise lines. For information on beverage policies by cruise line, visit: Bringing Beverages on Board.
In most cases, a valid U.S. passport is required when taking a cruise. Though some "closed loop" cruises (those that begin and end at the same U.S. port) may not require a passport, we recommend bringing yours in case of an emergency, such as an unexpected medical air evacuation or the ship docking at an alternate port. Your cruise company may require you to have a passport, even if U.S. Customs and Border Protection does not.
Additional travel documents may be required for international travel, and we recommend all travelers confirm the entry requirements for all countries prior to departure. For more information, visit: What documentation is required for non-U.S. travel?
Please be advised that securing and bringing the required identification and travel documents (by governments, cruise lines, air lines, etc.) are solely the responsibility of each guest. We are unable to provide refunds for guests who do not possess the necessary documentation.
For up-to-date travel documentation requirements, please visit: U.S. Department of State.
If you do not already have a passport, you must apply for one in person. If your passport is expired, you may be able to renew it through the mail.
For specific instructions on obtaining or renewing a passport, visit: Travel.State.Gov
What documentation is required for non-U.S. travel?
An international trip may require valid travel documents such as, but not limited to:
Passport Visa
Re-entry permit
Health certificate
Inoculation record
A ticket for the return journey, or continuance of your trip
Or ANY combination thereof
Please be advised that knowing, securing and bringing the required identification and other documents required for non-U.S. travel (by governments, cruise lines, air lines, etc.) are solely the responsibility of the guest. We are unable to provide refunds for guests who do not possess the necessary documentation.
Concerns about the required travel documents may be resolved by contacting the appropriate consulate, embassy, or government agency. Click for details on non-U.S
Every country has its own laws regarding entrance by non-citizens. Please check the specific laws governing the country you are visiting. It is your sole responsibility to obtain all necessary documentation prior to your departure. Regardless of the ticket you purchase, applicable immigration laws apply.
Please note that there is a new U.S. regulation in effect that requires citizens from certain countries to obtain a visa if their flight is stopping over in the U.S., even if it is not the final destination.
In addition, citizens from waiver-countries should be aware that in accordance with the U.S. Department of State, travelers entering the United States under the Visa Waiver Program must have a machine-readable passport. Any traveler without a machine-readable passport will be required to obtain a visa before coming to the U.S.
For more information on U.S. visa regulations, visit: U.S. Department of State
If your middle name appears on your Proof of Citizenship, you must provide your middle name during pre-registration with the cruise line to ensure that the name on your reservation matches your documentation.
Are there international travel restrictions for children?
Current regulations, which are subject to change at any time, are as follow: Parents of minor children (under 18 years old) must carefully document legal custody prior to traveling.
If a minor child is traveling with only one parent, the absent parent should provide a notarized letter of consent.
If only one parent has legal custody, that parent should be prepared to provide such evidence to airlines and authorities (i.e., A copy of the sole custody document, or death certificate of absent parent.)
In cases in which a minor child is traveling alone or in someone else's company, both parents (and the sole, documented custodial parent) should provide a notarized letter of consent.
If a child traveling has a different last name from the mother and/or father, the parents should be prepared to provide evidence to airlines and authorities, such as a birth certificate or adoption decree, to prove that they are indeed the parents.
Please be advised that securing and bringing the required identification and travel documents (by governments, cruise lines, air lines, etc.) are solely the responsibility of each guest. We are unable to provide refunds for guests who do not possess the necessary documentation.
For up-to-date travel restrictions for children, please visit: U.S. Department of State
Age requirements differ for each cruise line. Policies are strictly enforced by the cruise lines, and guests who do not meet the minimum requirements will not be permitted to board.
You will have many opportunities to purchase duty free goods, take exciting shore excursions, buy local souvenirs, play your chance in the casino, or enjoy some pampering in the spa. You can charge these items to your shipboard account or pay with a debit or credit card for "in port" purchases. When visiting ports of call, carrying some cash or travelers checks for smaller purchases is recommended.
Most cruise lines automatically charge gratuities once on board, ranging from $12-$25 per person per day, which is not included in the cruise fare. Guests can pay gratuities ahead of time or before disembarkation from the ship. Gratuities are divided among the service staff on the ship. Additional gratuities are at the guest's discretion for exceptional service, or on cruises that do not automatically charge daily tips.
Cruise lines typically charge a 15-18% service charge to all beverage tabs in addition to gratuities.
It is customary for guests to extend gratuities to the shipboard staff in appreciation for their hard work and exceptional service. All gratuities are divided among the service staff on the ship, including the staff that work behind the scenes to enhance your overall cruise experience.

Alam-Al-Raya’s online exchange functions as a massive marketplace for tickets. Sellers include firms, box office promoters, licensed ticket sellers. Sellers use the Alam-Al-Raya’s online exchange to list their extra inventory. When a customer orders tickets on our website, the order is then filled by the ticket seller who listed them. So, while Alam-Al-Raya manages the online exchange on which the tickets are posted, we do not hold the actual tickets.
When you shop at Alam-Al-Raya, you can be assured that you are conducting a safe transaction. We have worked hard to go above and beyond what is considered standard internet security, to ensure that our website and offices are PCI Compliant. Any questions you have about your order will be handled swiftly and efficiently by our professional customer service team. Additionally, if there are any issues with a seller fulfilling your order, we guarantee your purchase 100%.*
We’re sorry you have this issue. Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes the booking voucher might go into your spam folder, so please do check it. The booking processing time is 24 hours. If you still did not receive any booking voucher after 24 hours, please click here to submit a ticket, and mention your name and contact number. Our customer service representatives will get in touch with you as soon as possible.
Thanks for being patient!
The Alam-Al-Raya Customer Service center is open seven days a week, excluding holidays, from 9am to 6pm. If you have any questions about an order you would like to make, or an existing order, feel free to contact us by email at Info@alamalraya.com..
When will my tickets ship, and how soon will they arrive? Many ticket sellers make their tickets available to you before they have even been printed, which gives customers an edge on getting great seats in advance. Because this sometimes happens, tickets may not be “in hand” at the time of purchase.
Seller notes often indicate when an order will ship (at the latest), so customers know when to expect their tickets. They may also note that tickets are “in hand,” which means they can ship immediately. After your tickets have shipped, you will receive a tracking number, so you may track your purchase. Either way, we guarantee your tickets will arrive in time.
Oh no! Perhaps you could check the coupon’s terms and conditions. The coupon could be valid for a limited period only, or for a one-time use only, or it is only valid for specific tours.Tickets are shipped with tracking numbers. Shipping via tracking is secure and safe for both ticket buyers and sellers on our website. Shipping through tracking allows ticket sellers to ensure that the tickets they sell have arrived at the proper recipient, and ticket buyers can track the progress of the package.
Yes, generally expect the sellers who list tickets on our exchange to require a signature for ticket delivery. This is to ensure that the tickets are physically received by someone rather than left out in the open. That being said, the decision to require a signature depends on the seller shipping the tickets.
Many ticket sellers will choose to deliver tickets close to the event by one of three methods: will-call, local pickup, or email. Will-call means that you will pick up the ticket at the venue box office window. Local pickup will require that you pick up your tickets at a location up to 30 minutes away from the venue. Email means that the seller will email you the tickets before the show Please note that these delivery methods are at the discretion of the seller, so be sure to choose tickets where the listing specifically states one of these methods, or contact the seller after buying a ticket to confirm that you will be able to get a ticket by will-call, local pick-up, or email. Same-day order tickets are subject to the $20.00 Near-Term Delivery option.
Yes, tickets can be shipped to P.O. Boxes. Just un-check the box next to “use my billing address as the shipping address” in checkout and enter your P.O. Box information.
There is a section with the tour vendor/operator details in your booking voucher email. You can contact them by the contact information stated there.
Yes, customers are allowed to input an alternate shipping address for most orders placed through alamalraya.com. However, there are certain restrictions that are based on the ticket order total. Additionally, sellers may request a signed authorization from you if they desire proof that you accept the alternate shipping address.
Customers will need to contact their seller directly with any shipping address changes after an order is placed. Sellers are very security-conscious about where they ship tickets and will likely only change your delivery information if it is completely necessary.
Some sellers may list their tickets as being available for email delivery. However, this does not mean that your tickets will be emailed immediately. You will be notified by email when your tickets are available for downloading and printing.
We want to make sure that ticket sellers provide customers with the tickets they were promised. In order to protect you, Alam-Al-Raya offers a 100% Money Back Guarantee if: Your order is accepted by, but not delivered by the seller Your order is accepted by, but shipped too late by the seller for the tickets to arrive in time for the event You were denied entry because of the tickets or invalid tickets were provided by the seller. Verifiable proof must be provided by the venue in written letter format. Written or stamped "voids" do not constitute verifiable proof. Your event is cancelled entirely with no rescheduled date. 100% refund for a cancelled event excludes shipping.
Due to the nature of our exchange, there is usually some lag time between when tickets are purchased and when the ticket listings are updated. As tickets are sold, sellers must manually update their listings. This means that your tickets may have been ordered by another customer before you had the chance to submit yours. This is a rare occurrence, but if it should happen to you, please contact us at alamalraya.com and our customer service representatives would be happy to help you find a similar seat or a seat at a similar price.
Similar to other large online shopping entities (such as Amazon), the inventory in our exchange comes from many different sellers. Therefore, we cannot guarantee combined shipping. However, in the case that some or all of your tickets are from the same seller, you may contact them after your order is confirmed to request that the shipping be combined. This service is at the discretion of the seller.
Yes! Event tickets make great gifts. Even though tickets may not ship immediately after you purchase them, we guarantee they'll arrive in time for the event.
Tickets are guaranteed to be together, unless the seller’s notes say otherwise. If tickets are listed in a general category, zone, section, or row, we guarantee that they will be together. Examples of these sorts of notes are: “Zone A,” “Section 200,” “Row 102,” etc. However, sometimes the notes say something like “Section 2, rows A-Z” or “Section 2, Rows A and B, piggybacked” which lets you know that the seats may not be together. If they are “piggybacked,” it means one seat is in front of the other, but in 2 separate rows.
You may use our simple search bar at the top of the page to search by Artist, Venue, Team, City, or State. To do a more advanced search, visit our home page. On the home page you may search by Zip Code, State, City, Date Range, and Category. On the search results page, there are filters in the left sidebar to help you narrow down the selection even further. If you want to view tickets in certain categories, on specific days of the week, time of day, or location, you may filter your results by clicking the check box next to the various options. When you choose your tickets, click the “Buy” button, and proceed to checkout. If you ever have any questions about finding or buying tickets on our website, you may contact us at any time by email at info@alamalraya.com.
Sellers prefer to list tickets at least in pairs so as to increase the chance that they’ll be able to sell all the tickets in a listing. Entertainment events are social occasions that people usually attend with friends or family. Single tickets are very hard to sell and so sellers try to avoid being stuck with them by buying and selling tickets in larger quantities.
Ticket sellers don’t list seat numbers to prevent double-booking tickets. Because transactions on alamalraya.com take place in real time, it is possible for a set of tickets to be purchased at the exact same time by two different individuals. In order to prevent this confusion, ticket sellers instead list general rows and sections. They often have several groups of tickets, so if multiple orders come in, they can successfully fill them (without anyone getting upset or disappointed).
Zone seating is a recent introduction in the secondary ticket market that borrows entertainment trends from Europe. The seating itself involves venues being geographically demarcated into various chunks according to some visual model. The chunks concerned are often dubbed “Zones” and randomly drawn and marked with varying creativity. (Zones could be labeled as A, B, C or GOLD, SILVER, BRONZE or any such system of categorization.) Event-goers are then given options to purchase seats based solely on their Zone location. Some sellers will choose to specify seating location in greater detail in their ticket notes.
The name on a customer’s ticket will be the name of the original purchaser. Therefore, your name will not be on the ticket purchased through Alam-Al-Raya. However, please note that the name on the tickets will not affect your ability to access the event. The most important aspect is that the bar code on the tickets scans when entering the event.
Tickets are generally one-of-a-kind, irreplaceable items that can seldom be re-accessed or re-printed. The purpose of such restrictions is to prevent ticketing fraud via multiple printings of the same ticket. Regardless, customers should contact their seller to see if it is possible to re-access lost tickets.
Electronic tickets, or e-tickets, are delivered to you electronically through your device. You must download and print your e-tickets, which will have a barcode and will be valid for entry into the event. Some things to know about your e-tickets: When your e-tickets are ready to download, you will receive an email with instructions for accessing your e-tickets. Some e-tickets may not be available for download immediately, but are guaranteed to be ready in time for your event. If the tickets are downloaded and the file is blank, you will need to update your version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free and widely used program for opening the type of document used to deliver the tickets. Click here to download the latest version.
Paperless tickets aren’t like traditional paper tickets, and they don’t involve having a physical ticket in hand. Instead, these tickets require the ticket seller to accompany you to the venue’s box office. Our ticket listings will indicate which tickets are paperless with notes such as “I will be attending the event, and will accompany you to the box office at the venue.”
Flash tickets are a new innovation used for ticket distribution by event promoters. Customers with “flash” tickets access their tickets by swiping a credit card (the one used for the original ticket purchase) at a venue kiosk. This kiosk will then print out a ticket receipt that the event goer can present to venue personnel as a means to gain entry to the event. Ticket sellers usually arrange flash ticketing by mailing customers a gift card that was used by the seller initially to purchase the tickets. This card would contain the initial purchase information for the order and would generate a viable receipt. (Customer should contact their seller directly with any additional questions about flash ticketing.)
Similar to Amazon, Alam-Al-Raya is a massive online exchange, where ticket sellers can list their inventory. Because of this, we do not charge your credit card, own, price, or ship the tickets listed on our website. All of those parts of your transaction are handled by the individual sellers listing their tickets on our exchange. Alam-Al-Raya’s purpose is simply to connect ticket buyers with a lot of ticket options. Generally speaking, sellers decide to resell their tickets at a price that reflects the market, and prices often rise and fall with supply and demand. The result is that tickets on our website are often sold either above or below face value. In addition to the market value fluctuating, sellers often have a large number of expenses to cover in order to get their hands on great seats. Sellers often must pay face value, plus fees (or membership fees to special clubs), and sometimes they stand in line for hours to get the best seats available. By marking up the tickets, ticket sellers make a small profit. The benefit for ticket buyers is they don’t have to wait in line, on their computers, or on the phone for hours or months in advance of an event to get a good seat. Instead, customers can find great seats even a couple of weeks before from an event.
Taxes on tickets actually vary substantially from state-to-state and even between localities in various states - an ever-changing situation. This means that local and/or state taxes are not calculated on our checkout page during the purchase process. (Ticketing taxes are based on the location of the ticket seller supplying an order and most prevalent in Texas, Chicago, California, Michigan and Canada.
The sellers who list tickets with us usually charge customers automatically when an order is placed so as to reserve your place in line for tickets (since sellers often receive numerous orders simultaneously). On that note, ticketing is a dynamic business (prices rising and falling all the time) so it’s important to claim your ticket early at the price set at the time of the purchase.
If an event gets permanently cancelled, you are eligible for a 100% refund. Please note that the refund constitutes the price you paid for the tickets, and does not include shipping costs that you may have incurred as part of the purchase process.
As a general rule, all sales on alamalraya.com are final. Please be absolutely sure you want to purchase the tickets before ordering.
There are three main ways to access event tickets for US-based events if you’re an international customer: Order tickets and input a US-based shipping address: You should use this option if the event is more near-term in nature and you could potentially have the tickets shipped to a friend’s house in the US or even a hotel. Order tickets marked as being available for will call, email, local pickup (etc): Tickets are only available using one of the above methods if that method is specifically advertised on the listing notes and/or during checkout. Order tickets and input your home address for shipment: You should use this option if the event is a while away and thus likely to ship before your travels. Please note that you can always contact your ticket supplier directly to provide an alternate (US-based) address (if needed).
Ticket orders placed through Alam-Al-Raya are charged in US dollars. Please note that exchange charges (if applicable) for non-US customers may apply to ticket orders placed through Alam-Al-Raya.
Delivery fees for Alam-Al-Raya customers are based on the location of the ticket seller versus the location of the end customer (the event location is irrelevant). Canadian customers with Canadian events through US sellers will thus have International Express fees. US customers with US events through Canadian sellers will also have International Express fees. An international delivery fee therefore means that the seller supplying your order is not based in your home country and thus must ship internationally.
We offer accessible seating for all VIP packages. Should you need accessible seating, you may submit a request by emailing info@alamalraya.com for further assistance. Due to the unique nature of VIP packages, accommodations may differ among venues, events, and packages. A Alam-Al-Raya representative will assist you with your request.
Accessible tickets may be purchased online directly from the seat map. Please note: The number and types of accessible tickets vary by event and venue; in fact, some venues sell tickets for accessible tickets at their box office only. *For some events Alam-Al-Raya is not the primary ticket seller. For such events, tickets have been posted for sale by third party sellers or other fans. If this is the case, we cannot guarantee that accessible tickets will be posted for resale, and if you require accessible seating, we suggest you contact the primary ticket seller and/or the venue box office to check on availability of tickets that accommodate your needs.
